Yep, that's what the manual says for my '97 Taurus.3.0s ran on 5-30 for years before Ford said it was ok to run 5-20 in them. You will be just fine.
Yeah, the girl at the counter was kind of ditzyWhile I agree your truck will be fine, if you specified 5W-20 and they put in 5W-30, I would take it back.
It's actually an ASE certified shop that I have been going to for a while, and have always received great service. But the cap says "5-20", did they not notice that!?damn those Wal Mart kids.....
I live in a complex where tenants aren't supposed to work on their vehicles, plus the oil filter is a real bitch to take off/put on on the 3.0's. His prices are reasonable too, a basic oil change is $21.wouldnt it be easier to just change it yourself and not have this problem?
While I agree your truck will be fine, if you specified 5W-20 and they put in 5W-30, I would take it back.
