Official current Ranger production ending 2011

They'll be unveiling a more mid-size truck with the 3.5L EcoBoost, rated to tow 11k lbs.

Yeah, it's called the F150. Ford IS putting the 3.5 Ecoboost in it, and it does have tow rating of 11k lbs.

I see a ton of Rangers around, so it seems like they're selling well..

I too see metric buttloads of them around Manchester, NH in all capacities and colors.

I probably see about 15-20 in my daily 80 mile round trip commute.

Ahh ok... I thought I heard something about the F-100 name, but I'm not totally sure. The 3.5 is damn cool motor, I just wish they'd leave the Ranger and drop it in there instead!

Yep. the venerible 4.0 can finally get retired.

What would REALLY make me happy is if they brought back the 4-banger/4x4 combo! It'd be decent with an EcoBoost 4!

Ya, the F-100 went on ice. Last i have seen, Ford is planning on splitting our category and forcing some to go down to the Focus, and others to go up to the F-150. Only problem with this way of thinking is that those who want a small truck, are still going to have one, they just will be going to other brands to get them. :icon_idea:

maybe they plan to bring back the ranchero lol

the current ranger isn't tobad, all ford has to do is add more avalible engine choices.

wait, is the B series gonna die too?

I thought the ranger was selling well, there is a ranger every 3 houses here! or more!
Few of them are farm trucks compared to work trucks or DD

EDIT: my neighbor has a Ranchero he wants to restore.

On Monday I counted about 40 different Rangers within 45 minutes of driving. About 90% of em were 06+ :icon_surprised:

Why stop making such a great thing? If they don't replace the Ranger I'm sure they will see a nice little sales drop, and then be forced to bring it back :icon_cheers: At least that's what I'm hoping for.

You guys need to look at this positively. Ford also canned the Explorer Sport Trac.

And the keyword for the title of this thread is "current Ranger" meaning current design.

If ford keeps doing like they have with the Focus and the Fiesta, we will get the European/Mexican/etc version of the Ranger with optional CREW CAB!!!!

Here is some spy shots:

In detroit:

I saw pics of the same camo'd truck in California, unable to find the link, though.
There's aso tons of spy shots of the 2012 Ranger overseas, but that might not be the exact version we get. Check out the bt-50 or thr t-6.

I'm sure these are all reposts, but it all adds up when you put it together.

Trix, welcome to TRS by the way!

You make a good point. Maybe we can FINALLY get a diesel Ranger in the states for the first time in 25 years! I do like the looks of the "World Ranger."
