91 Range 3.0, automatic with air conditioning, installed a new fan clutch today and noticed that the radiator "off set" to the drivers side so that the fan is not centered on the core. Is this normal?? Rad. is mounted where it's supposed to be, could it be the wrong rad? thanks

Does it have the fan shroud in place?

Not at this point. I just found center on the core support, dropped a plumb bob down, and the center of the water pump is off set to the passengers side by about an inch and a quarter, witch tells me the motor is not centered in the engine compartment. Really weird.

You need a fan shroud, or engine can over heat when stopped or driving slowly

Yes it is off set, look up a 3.0l fan shroud and you will see its off-set to one side

Throw away the plumb Bob, close the hood and nobody will notice.

Putting a shroud back in there is a good idea, though. It helps direct the airflow for higher efficiency.

There is one, but it appears to be the wrong one. I have just ordered a new one based on the information I got here. Thanks for all the great input. it's the reason I joined here.
