I'm doing more of a "platform" set on the raised area along the rear cab where the jump seats were mounted, with "feet" or "supports" at the front edge, just behind the seats.I thought about trying to do a floor box and so did my buddy but we decided we wanted to try and keep the floor space as clear as possible. I have kicked around the idea of building a sort of platform/storage space on the floor but never got around to experimenting.
I got drawings and measurements from a Reddit group.
I'll likely only use 5/8 and the cheapest I can get, plan is to cover it with the same type of rubber floor material or some industrial floor runner type.
The OP actually bought commercial entry door mats and cut them to size.
It should yield about 4-5" once I account for making it level.
My pew-pew box is a front opening type where the front panel is hinged at the bottom. I'll need to put a spacer under it when I bolt it to the floor to create enough clearance for it to open.
