What did they actually have?

Looks like they did have Marchal lights at least at some point

And then I see in the parts book they show covers with the neat first gen font, probably not for the STX or GT judging by the part number though:

Did the the "Ranger" covers actually exist?

The number E4TZ-15K233 seems to have subbed to an E9 number with just an oval:

Someone on here was selling a set with the covers not too long ago, the ad may still be in the for sale section. Doubt they are still available but the pics might still be there.

Thanks, I will have to check it out. :icon_thumby:

I did find pictures of the kit on some foreign version of ebay... and the covers are different yet. Looks like you get to put stickers on them yourself. I think the switch is different than what was on the STX/GT trucks too.

The cover lights were a dealer option, I think independent of the ones on the STX. And the "Ranger" covers did exist, as did "Bronco II" ones

And I found this on the subject:

"Ford dealer installed fog lamps were first offered in 1932, they were made by the Trippe Driving Lamp Co.

Later in the 1930's thru the 1960's, the foglamps were made by Unity.

In 1973, Ford first offered rectangular shaped halogen fog lamps made by Marchal, and a version of the 1973/79 lamps were also offered 1980/84.

E0TZ-15200-C .. Fog Lamp Kit-Marchal / Fits: 1980/84 F100/350's & Bronco's. This kit came with the switch, relay, wiring loom, all misc attaching parts, instruction sheet and two plain white plastic fog lamp removable covers. The fog lamps themselves were very similar to what the 1979/86 Mustangs used.

A different "universal" kit was offered 1984/89, it also fit Bronco's and Rangers, Econolines, Aerostars and Bronco II's. This kit was made by Blazer.

E9TZ-15200-K .. Fog Lamp Kit-Blazer (replaced E4TZ-15200-A) SEE EDIT BELOW

But wait...there's more...

E9TZ-15200-A .. " Universal" Fog Lamp Kit-Bosch / Fits: 1988/91 F150/350, Bronco, Bronco II, Ranger (not the GT model), Aerostar, Explorer. This kit also came with all the attaching parts.

E9TZ-15200-B .. Universal Road Lamp Kit-Bosch / Fits: Same as above.

There's still more, at least 6 different types of fog & road lamp kits used on the roll bars, push bars, and brush guards.

All these kits are obsolete."

Here:

And I think the covers in question fit the Marchal lights (of course) I think I can barely make out the cat head logo in the center of the lights in the accessory brochure photo. Here is a set of fogs for a (E6ZZ-15200-A) with the Ford oval covers included.

And more part numbers from the 1987 Accessory catalog:
