I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4WD extended cab 4 door 4.0L 5R55E transmission. Someone replaced the fuel pump and messed up the connectors on the fuel lines coming off the pump. I have not found what I need at the local salvage yards. Can anyone help me with the part numbers for the (Help, Dorman, etc) hose repair ends part numbers. Thank-you.

The middle line and the line to the right of that one. They are the lines that are running vertical in the photo. The middle of the 3 vertical lines is the one that is leaking fuel very badly. Thank-you.

Nylon fuel line help needed

Can you pull it off and inspect it carefully? It's going to be the line connection or the line itself, the fitting is cracked, or the o-ring is broken or missing. Also carefully inspect the male fitting that is part of the fuel pump sticking up. It may be cracked also.

I think if you look hard enough you can find those o-rings.

Thank-you for the reply. The fitting does not appear to have an O ring in it. I have not been able to find the same type truck to compare to.

So the smaller lines are leaking?

That whole thing is weird to me. I'm used to only 2 lines (the bigger ones) there.

That's how those fittings work. The o-ring seals on the male part of the sending unit, and it's held on mechanically with the clip behind the ridge on the male part of the fitting.

Thank-you, I appreciate the help. The O-ring must have stayed on the old pump. The clips are missing. They had the two smaller lines held on with zip ties. I need to find where to purchase those clips, and the O-ring.

If the smaller line can use the same clips as the larger ones, they should be available in the Help! section of any parts store.

Dorman 800-015

Worst case scenario, they come with a new fuel filter.

As for the o-rings. A WELL stocked hardware store, or get new ends and harvest them. I wouldn't try to swap the new ends onto the existing line unless I had no other choice. Nylon is @#$%$# to get put together without some kind of press tool.
