now that's a bit of a stretch...

so, i did the clutch today.i forgot to bring the camera, but it's just a routine clutch job so there would be nothing exciting to photograph anyway.

i have a friend who owns an auto repar shop in town and he let me use his hoist and trans jack,so that made things much easier.it took a little under 4 hours for the complete job,not rushing in any way.

it sure is nice being able to push in the clutch pedal and not hear that awfull grinding noise.

so,there i am at the elementary school waiting for the kids to get out.i always go there early as it gives me some time to read a magazine and listen to the radio in peace(folks are always trying to track me down to do stuff)
so anyway,i'm reading the latest issue of air and space(an excellent article on the xp67 moonbat) listening to 'smoke on the water' when there's this great huge CRASH!

seems a big gust of wind comes along and rips the rear section of the tonneau off sending it through the back window....

so much for my relaxing half hour.

so i'm in the parking lot cleaning up broken glass,

and it starts to pour...soaking my amps.and now i've got the back of the truck getting soaked, glass falling all over the place, and the kids are getting out asking what happened to the truck and i'm trying to figure out how to get everyone in the truck without getting them all cut up.

that sucks, but on the bright side now its time for a limo style roll down rear window.

it sure did make me jump.i didn't know what was going on for the first few seconds.

it wasn't even really windy-just a freak gust, and i guess the tonneau wasn't fully latched.

I hate it when I forget to do something like leave a screwdriver on the hood and go to leave and it falls off and then run over it puncturing a tire. :icon_twisted:

the tonneau undoes it's self going over potholed roads.i'm constantly putting it back in the latched position.
normally this isn't a big deal....but if the wind hits it hard enough and from just the right angle, off it comes.

That sucks, and looks like in the background of your redneck window pic, the ranger is on a bit of a slant, did u loose a tire lol

naw,it's just flat.

it's got a leaky valve-i was pumping it up all the time before but i said to hell with it the last little while.too damn ugly out lately to drag the air hose out.

Plastic and duct tape, that's class. Might want to think about replacing it with lexan to avoid a repeat performance.

Lol and that's what I got in the back of my 79 bronco now, plastic and duct tape lol
