now that's a bit of a stretch...

True, but you've already done that with the beach runner...
SVT

true....but it was actually a part of the original plan with this truck-and there's been many times i wish i'd done it already.i have all the parts already.

now i've just gotta deal with that dent in the rear fender from when it went through the motel.

Can you elaborate? After a bottle of vodka all I see is a missing window, a screwdriver and some random rubber trim.

now i've just gotta deal with that dent in the rear fender from when it went through the motel.

I just wanted to point out how awesome it must be to be able to say that at some point in your life.

you drove into a motel?

well, not me.i was getting into the shower at the time.

the wife went to unlock the door and hit the remote start instead.the truck was in reverse.....i've since made a neutral switch for it.

That'd suck...There was a guy who used to bring his hot rods into dads shop and there was a 40's Buick with a big block Chevrolet in it all blacked out and dropped down and everything. He started it in gear at his house and did the same thing but hit the space between the two garage doors knocking the bricks down all the car needed was a new fender.

ya,the truck didn't come out too bad...a bit of a ding in the rear fender, and a broken taillight.the motel definitely got the worst of it.

so i figured i'd deal with something that's been bugging me for a while...

the area beside the middle seat looks very unfinished....mostly because it's unfinished.

i glued together some 3/4'' mdf to make a combination speaker box/armrest.this should fill in the empty space.

a few minutes on the sewing machine with some vinyl for the rest of the cover.i picked up this machine at a garage sale for $30-it's over 50 years old and works like a charm.....no fancy extras, but it goes through upholstery fabric like nothing.

a little chrome to get me home, and it's ready to install.that part will have to wait...it's getting dark now.
