notice anything different?

Looks very professional man. I wish I possessed the skills and knowledge to do the things you do to your truck haha

Nice job :icon_thumby:

I've had my '94 setup that way almost since the truck was new (batteries hardwired in parallel). No problems to speak of. Funny, I used 1" (or maybe it was ¾"? I can't remember) angle for mine as well.

Mine have been setup that way too. I've heard of it potentially causing problems if one battery is weaker than the other, but I've never seen it. The isolator systems always seemed like garbage to me anyways. I want the extra amps for starting and for winching. In the past 5 years, I've never drained both of them to the point where the truck wouldn't start, so the isolator system would have been useless anyways.

Ive heard that. Really i dont think you have to worry about unless you put in a brand new battery with a weak one. I have seen that cause problems before.

Yeah I bought and installed both batteries at the same time. Brand new. I hardly have to touch the key and the thing starts :) I added another ground cable today, just for good measure, and in case youre wondering if the cable I used was big enough, heres what 1/0 welding cable looks like to my thumb, and an olfa knife. cheers. Oh, also cleaned my MAF for good measure.

thats some heavy damn wire. when i asked about mine i was told to run some light guage wire for the second battery so it doesnt fry everything up

Id think the exact opposite, run as heavy a wire as you can. Considering the amperage that is going to be flowing, bigger is better. Id be scared running little wire...to me that would seem likely to fry. Also, the ground cable was made using those copper connectors, which were filled with solder, heated, and then the end of the cable pushed into the melted solder....and then crimped at the top for good measure.

ok, i plan on running the positive from the secondary battery right to the solenoid as would the primary battery then just gronud it somehwere on the fender like normal. is this how you done it?

No, I ran them in parallel, from positive to positive, and negative to negative, and also put an extra ground from the 2nd battery directly to the frame rail. I have two NEW batteries, if you do this with just one new one, theyll die prematurely. I didnt bother isolating them because I didnt want to basically. Plus, I wont be running my winch without my truck running.

and for those too lazy to look at the build thread, heres the tray i built for it.
