not cranking

Are we talking about a 4.0 here? Cause it doesnt have a timing belt...it has a chain.

What is your definition of "turning over, but not cranking"? You have everyone confused.

Now when you say its not cranking, what do you mean? Is the starter engaging and the motor turning over at all?...If not, is it making any noises?. Be specific. If it is turning over, are you saying it just cranks but you have no spark?

the motor turns over but it is not cranking , the starter engages and turns the motor but it does not crank. yes it is a 4.0 and i ment it has a chain, im going to check the timing today to see if it jumped a tooth, or the chain broke so, give me other things to check while im at it, soory for all the confusion.

Cranking and turning over is the same thing....I believe you mean its not firing.

I would check to see if you have spark first before you do anything. Make sure the fuel pump runs, and you can audibly hear it prime. Lastly, I would check the crank position sensor.

i changed the fule filter and i can here the pump prime,i checked the spark i do have spark, i also changed the crank shaft position sensor to, i got it to fire up last night after i sprayed starter fluid in the air intake and now this morning nuthing at all...................i just need a BAMF HAMMER
