No passenger airbag in 1996?

Beginning to install an EATC. Disconnected the battery and pulled the cover off. But I don’t have a passenger airbag! I do have the connector. all these years I assumed I had one. Oh well. No one rides with me anyway.

All those years of loading 3 kids in the front. At least I had seatbelts in it. When I was a kid in the 60's, we had no seatbelts or airbag!

My '97 doesn't have a passenger airbag either... which also means I get 3 12v ports on the dash which is sometimes convenient.
