Just wondering how our NJ friends were doing. I know you all got the flash flooding that we received in TN. Hope everyone is safe and ok

From Wednesday night.

The creek got dammed up causing flooding. Most of the houses on the street ended up with 3-4’ of water in them.

My house stayed dry for the most part.

Dang!

I've seen a bit of this on the news... mother nature is scary.

I believe we got one good downpour though this... and a few few short periods of rain.

I aparently fled to the south to AVOID a hurricane? :icon_confused:

My house and my parents place we're fine but the Delaware threw up and lots of homes and streets in the lower areas got flooded bad. We were already on flash flood alerts for a couple weeks before the storm. Tornadoes hit a few areas too. There's a video of one on the Burlington Bristol bridge which is about 20 mins south of my area.

The Delaware river floods the lower areas maybe once every ten years, the Raritan river probably once every 20. But I've never seen anything like this where it's so high and across the whole state at once before.

While floating in a river full of raw sewage and diesel.

It's Philly, the sewage part is par for the course, the Shasta however is just friggin weird...

The local Sheriffs dept sent a few of what I consider my vehicles to assist in recovery. (I work on them... they’re mine.)

Good lord those trucks are ancient...

Good lord those trucks are ancient...
Yes, but none of them have over 10k miles on them and you can kill them... they will last forever.

They are probably national guard surplus, those trucks were lucky to make one trip a year but the mechanics still had to service them on a regular time schedule whether they moved since the last maintenance or not. My dad was NJ national guard and he spent his time taking apart helicopters that never flew anywhere. If the book said replace this part of change this oil every 6 months it got done even if they were chucking brand new parts with no flight time in the trash. :dunno:

Some of those trucks are definitely from my dad's time, they haven't even used that paint scheme since the mid 90's. :icon_rofl:
