NJ friends

We got an MRAP with about 100 miles on.

There's very few landmines in NJ so obviously an MRAP wouldn't be needed much...

You’d be surprised how many police and sheriff’s departments in NJ have “useless” MRAPs.

I'm glad to hear you guys are ok. Dittman, just so you know basements aren't safe during flash flooding. Glad you were down south

We just got a report that one of our 5 tons is dead in the water (literally died during a deep water crossing) in Manville... I was getting ready to go tow it in, but they said we can’t get to it because of the flooding and fires in the area.
Shouldn’t the flooding take care of the fires?

I may have to go get it on Monday. Double time and a half!

My neighbors garage burnt down and the fire department couldn’t get to it because it was sitting in three/four feet of water.

I remember a show on TV about a small town where a creek kept catching fire and no one could figure out why. They later found out anytime it flooded, a distillery upstream would leak a ton of alcohol into the water and it would ignite downstream where it pooled up into a small pond.

Jack Daniels in TN.

NJ is usually prone to heavy flooding when we get that heavy of a rainstorm. Where I live we got about 9 inches in about 6 hours, and set a record of 3 inches in one hour. Honestly, the worst I have seen since Irene.

I had about an inch or two of water in the basement and about a foot in the backyard. I lost a rug in the basement, and a bag of concrete in the backyard storage bin. My shed / tools are still drying out. Almost lost the Grand Marquis to flooding. My street (which had never flooded prior) got pretty deep. Fortunately I caught it in time to move the car into the driveway after moving the other vehicles back.
