Anyone ever seen a Kawasaki Ninja Trike? I've been lookin for a bike and a 2001 250cc Ninja is about the best i can afford. unfortunately i live 2.5miles down a gravel and will be a beginer to bikes, so a trike is a must. But if the ninja don't look then i'm going to look at a Honda Rebel trike. So does anyone have pictures?

Thanks, BILL

buy a $100 dirtbike and learn to negotiate the dirt road before deciding on a trike, you will only be hurting yourself in the end. I haven't ridden a bike in years but it was not that hard to learn. Maybe someday I will have that 78 goldwing in my garage back together.

ah ....... I get it ......... I learned to ride when I was 10. my mom helped me buy my first street bike when I was 16, I had an 83 Yamaha Virago 750.

Don't bother with 3 wheelers. They're far more dangerous than 2.

I have heard that, never ridden one though. rode a 400cc honda 4trax foreman 4x4 once. that was wild ................ drifting at 40 mph in a field....... that was like 12 years ago....... god I am gettin old

i don't it's that their more dangerous, rather than they make you feal safer and then you start acting like you're a bulletproof morron and get hurt. anything is safe as long as you don't mistreat it.

that may be but keep in mind they don't corner as well and they are not balanced as well. keep that in the back of your head when you are riding it and should be problem free.

LOL trike..... I learned how to ride a motocross bike when I was 7, and have been riding dirt bikes ever sence. A trike is equivelent to a couch on wheels. If you actually need evasive minuvers to avoid a car thats not paying attention you will be screwed because you cant lean the thing into a turn.

WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE SO HARD TO FIND...????

its because of their horable handling characteristics.!!!

I have had my ninja 250 down some short gravel roads and it's manageable but normal street bike tires aren't meant for stability on that stuff. For your situation I would recommend an enduro bike. Ninja 250's are cheap and good starter bikes so if you're getting it at a good price then go for it just because of the price. My 2005 costed 1000, the running 1994 parts bike I got costed 200 and came with a full Muzzy exhaust, and the 1997 i'm gonna be picking up soon is only gonna be 300. They only weigh a few hundred pounds and are easy to move around but you'll get blown all over the place if you take it on the interstate and try to pass a truck doing 100mph. If you do get the ninja I would suggest ditching the stock dunlop tire on the rear (if that's what it has on it) and going with a 130/90/R16 Pirelli Sport Demon because of the slightly extra width and ability to handle better when you get caught in the rain. All you are going to learn from a trike is how to work the clutch and shift through the gears and then you'll learn how to sell the thing and buy a bike.

funny thread to read after my brothers r6 slid out from under him at the road course today. trikes suck in on road and off road conditions. its the quad cab long bed f350 with a 6.9 liter of the bike world. the atv style trike quads are no longer made due to the HUGE risk of rolling, flipping, and general danger that comes with them(that being said i want one). ANYTHING smaller that a 450 is dangerous due to the fact they lose there speed and SOME agility to get away from cars.

Where do you find your bikes the cheapest one i found is $1100 for a 2001.

And what have you done to your bikes
and if you get tired of that muzzy exhaust i may be interested once i get bike, lol j.k thoose system are expensive aren't they? But they do sound good.

If your wanting to learn how to ride i would not just go get a trike. You would just want to sell it as soon as you had it. PLus i bet its damn near impossible to find a little 250 cc trike. Just get a cheap motorcycle like BDAB said, learn to ride it, and then go get the bike you want.

1100 for a 2001 is still below book value so that's a pretty decent deal. Honestly for some reason I just fall into the deals with the ninja 250's. My 2005 belonged to a friend of a friend and the guy thought he killed the motor because it was blowing smoke like crazy but it turned out that he just overfilled the oil and that's why I got it so cheap. The 94 was a bike that someone else bought for parts and only needed the foot pegs and marker lamps and sold it to me for what he paid. And the 97 that i'm supposed to be getting is complete but there's no title but i'm just gonna use the 94 frame and make one good titled bike. As for the Muzzy exhaust, I don't think i'll ever get rid of that until I get rid of the bike! It just sounds so good and the thing actually gives you that little extra low end power that you need with the bike. The exhaust was the biggest reason why I bought the bike that it came on, the bike was sitting in this guy's back yard and I saw the word "Muzzy" and knew the guy so I asked him about it and when he said 200 I paid him no more than 5 seconds after that. One thing to remember with those exhausts is that there is some slight modification required, first you have to ditch the center stand because it rests on the stock dual exhaust setup and second you have to cut off a little bit of the bottom fairing so that it doesn't touch the pipe and extend it out a little bit but it's nothing you can see unless you stick your head under the bike so it doesn't look all hacked up. I don't have any crazy mods done to the thing but my next step is to buy an EX500 shock and bolt it on to increase the ride height a little and stiffen it up and then after that i'm thinking about pod filters so that I can ditch the airbox and have more room to work around the carbs if I need to.
