The 2008 ones look alot nicer now with the new design and they even have a gas gauge! The one thing that sucks though is that 08-up is gonna be more expensive to repair something because alot of parts are different on them compared to the 07-down bikes. I keep on thinking about getting a bigger bike but I definitely like the 65-70mpg I get from my little ninja. My one friend has a Suzuki TL1000 and that thing gets like 30mpg on a good day although after riding the thing I really would want one just because it feels like there's no end to the amount of power that the bike has. When I get the older ninja throwin together I may just comprimise by keeping it for around town, selling the 2005 and then buying a bigger bike. I do know that once you've rode a starter bike you're gonna want to ditch it a month or two later and get something bigger so there's no point in spending alot of money on something that you're gonna sell for less than you paid for it.

That's not gonna happen atleast not for 2-3 years, because a 250 is biggest bike someone under 18 can ride in Arkansas. And if you sell your 05 hit me up first i may be interested. but unfortunately i've got to get rid of the ranger before i get a bike.

Trikes are terrible. The do not teach you to ride a motorcycle properly due to different steering characteristics. You would learn to turn backwards from a motorcycle and cause nothing but problems when you switch to two wheels. I would look for a 250cc dual sport or motard.

Hey I have one of those too! the 1000cc.
I have the 1200. going to replace it with 102ci S&S and baker 6spd and fuel injection from Arizona Race and Marine. The 1200 is locked up, and I gotta gut the wiring out of it too

truly, if you cant handle a couple miles on a dirt road on a 2 wheeled bike, you shouldnt be on one, really, just get a small cheap bike and start off slow and work your way up to the bigger bikes
riding on a dirt road isnt hard and will be second nature to you

dirt roads are no problem but when it's 2.5 mile of shifting gravel that have tractor tracks on a street bike it gets a little shaky. but i think i have been talked out of a trike and just seeing how it does

The shaky feeling is just that, a feeling. Don't let it mess with your nerves. I have ridden a track prepped GSXR-750 on nearly 150 miles of gravel roads in the past. It sucks but it isn't going to fall down on you unless you do something silly like panic.

My roomates got a enduro style bike. I think a 91 kawasaki 250. It came hideous turqoise with 80s style graffix and purple frame but a quick rattle can job took care of that. Got it used from the original owner in beautiful condition. Its perfect to learn to ride on and you dont feel so bad after you lay it down a few times. Im planning on getting one next year.
thats it on the right

I had one of those, a 99 KLR250. It has since been replaced with the KLX250, much better looking bike! I would seriously take a look at either of those, great beginner bike, especially with good tires.

take a course, when i took mine 2 years ago there were 5 chicks who never rode a bike in their life, and they all passed. most of the classes will do the final test on the last day and give you a small card that you take to the dmv to get your licence switched, atleast thats how NH is.....unless you have your licence already.

i think thats kinda how it is in arkansas you have to take a written part(wich i'm hopefully doing this friday or next), Then take a safety course, and then a driving test. The real problem is going to be insurance though i haven't even qouted it but i know it'll be extremely high.

so that said how about some pics of ya'lls bikes.

Thanks,BILL

I've gotten insurance without even having a motorcycle permit and it was still relatively cheap. In PA you used to be able to get your permit at the notary by just paying a fee and then when you go to get your license you have to take a written exam and a driving test. Now you have to take the written exam just to get your permit and then the driving test for your actual license. Either way you are legally allowed to just hop on a bike and ride it in the streets for the very first time without having any experience as long as you pass the written test.
