i have a 1928 ford model A pickup. i put a 1999 2.5 4cyl ranger motor/auto trans and rear in it. aswell as the computer. i have a few questions reguarding fuel. now i have the oem fuel tank sending unit exct....but its too bulky and long to fit under the truck. is there a stock tank from another ford car or truck or after market fuel tank that i can use to run this motor without any issues or problems? and recomendations on tanks or where to look?

id like to use the oem sending unit and pump thats for the ranger but if i cant any suggestions on what will work?

and my other question...
is there a way i can bypass the EGR on this motor without messing something up? how do i go about that? im trying to get rid of everything thing i dont need on this motor to save space aswell as keeping it simple. im not a motor guy at all and im just trying to make this all work and be dependable

It can all be done, the real question is how much do you want to spend.

The EGR is simple, get a tuner that will do EGR delete, then put a block plate over the intake port and a plug in the exhaust manifold.

The tank, you might be best off to have one custom made. I don't know off the top of my head of another unit that will fit exactly.

Lastly...

the heigth of the OEM sending unit can be shortened to fit in any tank...the float arm can be rebent/shortened to give accurate fuel level readings on the dash gauge...take measurements of the area that you want the tank to fit in/go to the junkyard & get a tank that will fit...

but like ads_ said......"how much money you got?"

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd................

What they said plus, go original, or go big, or go home lol. Ranger drivetrain in a model A? It'll be functional but won't have that cool factor.

thanks for all the replies some good ideas.id figure id ask ranger guys since im not good at motors im a fabracator. as for the money factor ill make it happen aslong as it works, keep in mind its a model A pickup so its gonna suck money with whatever i wanna do to it ****ers had a straw on my wallet sucking it from day one of the build. cool factor will def be there, dont need a big shrimp cock motor to do that.

Ahem. Can we re-name this thread the jail-bait thread? You can't post something like that and not go the distance.
