newbie needing ranger tech advice!! 1928 model A pickup with 99 ranger running gear

Now that's what I'm talkin about! I bet that I can look at more pics than you can take.......... :yahoo:

Did you get this monster cranking yet or are you still looking for a gas tank?

My boss and my shop foreman just built a temp tank for the boss's TJ out of an old Jerry can and some 3/4" brake line.

yea crazy talk customs made a killer tank and adaptor for me. works great. no its not running yet hopefully in the next couple months i can get it ready to run. still gotta tie up loose ends like brakes, fuel line, wiring, steering.

That fuel cell (and your truck) looks awesome. Keep us informed from time to time - or DG will start harassing you again.

:annoyed: Update...I need an update

;missingteeth;

I see what you are doing. In old BMWs, it is called a resto- mod. It will make a great driver. Please update with progress.. :icon_thumby:

Where did you get the rear fenders? When I was working at a restoration shop 6 years ago we did a '29 Model A Tudor Sedan and a closed cab pickup for the same guy and couldn't find new rear fenders anywhere, had to find good original ones.

i have a 1928 ford model A pickup. i put a 1999 2.5 4cyl ranger motor/auto trans and rear in it. aswell as the computer. i have a few questions reguarding fuel. now i have the oem fuel tank sending unit exct....but its too bulky and long to fit under the truck. is there a stock tank from another ford car or truck or after market fuel tank that i can use to run this motor without any issues or problems? and recomendations on tanks or where to look?

id like to use the oem sending unit and pump thats for the ranger but if i cant any suggestions on what will work?

and my other question...
is there a way i can bypass the EGR on this motor without messing something up? how do i go about that? im trying to get rid of everything thing i dont need on this motor to save space aswell as keeping it simple. im not a motor guy at all and im just trying to make this all work and be dependable

Post a picture! I wanna see!

heres an update. got the truck running like a dream. i have the EGR blocked off but since i havent been into the computer to delete it from the inside its still throwing check engine light...but runs great. any info of fooling the computer so the light will go off without having to pay a tuner a bunch of money to delete it?

brakes are working great aswell as all the interior lights and guages some stock some not.

rear fenders are found at gaslightautoparts.com very very expensive cause theres only one company that makes them in the USA specialty sheet metal but they dont sell to private people just retail.

You could take the light bulb out.

heres a video of the first start up. excuse the fenders and all the sheet metal being off of it. they are in primer and did not want to get them messed up.

yea i could take the bulb out. i was hoping to find someone to delete it from the computer and do everything the right way but once he told me it would be $600 to flash a chip for it it i started leaning more to ignoring the light idea.

id like to thank Kevin Micheals of four X fab. for making this truck possible and being a bad ass at wiring this complicated little truck up. as soon as i finish up painting and putting lip stick on this pig ill post up some finish shots.
