the front are 14x7 and the rear are 14x8.5....

i want 9+ inches of tread on the ground with a 25-27 inch height...the only way i could do this would to go with a bias-ply tire....what would be the down side of this compared to a radial

the biggest radial i could find was a 245/60/14 bfgoodrich
mesured 25.6 high and tread at 8.6 inches...

i have a set of 275/60/14s and thas about the size i want...but these are dry rotted very bad...they are right at 26 high and 9.5 wide...this is the size i want...

re fresh my memory....why not a good idea to run the bias-ply tires over radials on a daily driver?

There simply isn't much selection in 14" tires any more. The BFG might be the biggest you'll find unless Mickey Thompson still makes some.
Radials just handle and track better.

mickey does make some....they are like semi drag slicks or indy profile tire that are175-200 apeice and all bias-ply

bias ply vs. radial is mostly about heat retention and a bias will create more heat at higher speeds which could cause tire failure...

Stay away from bias on street vehicles, period.

i knew they ran hotter im lookin for 65-70 mph and slower when towing a samurai (2400 lbs) with a tow bar...i want the wider tires for looks and also my foot gets a little heavy and the 4.0 will light em up...

I wouldn't recommend em for you. I would ONLY use bias ply on a trail rig that never sees more than 30mph or so....
