New tools you've bought recently?

The Hercules stuff in general has good reviews and the bandsaw stand thing has good reviews, that's about all I know, I got into the Bauer stuff but there's some Hercules tools that would be nice so it annoys me some, why not just one battery system... but whatever, I've yet to get a portaband, I have a horizontal bandsaw that fits my needs when I'm doing that kinda thing, portable would be nice though, I live with the cordless angle grinder...

It would be nice if tool batteries were as common as USB-C charging ports. Hell as high as that's capable of delivering, why not offer it as a way of charging. At least on the smaller batteries.

I think I found the dumbest quickest method of quickly indexing the arbor press... I have a stack of these screw on magnets (basically a 20 pound magnet fishing magnet, don't remember what I originally bought them for), they happen to be the same outer diameter as the stock collar, I loosened the set screw and now you have to pull the pinion out or you can pull the collar off the end if you try, haven't tried but the magnet might be strong enough to hold the collar to the body. I know that bench is a disaster, I cleaned it some after the pic (I'm dumb like that, I live in hind sight :))

CRANKSHAFT FAN/CLUTCH SET

I have bought 2, maybe 3 sets with the ½" drive spanner and nut holding wrench but had never seen this set.

Arrived last night during MNF, pulling a fan this morning!!

I bought this smoke machine based on some Youtubers that I watch that seem to like it. I have had several instances recently where it could have come in handy so I figured I might as well buy it. My F250 has been throwing an evap code for quite a while so I might test it on that.

Bought a New Britain, 3/8" drive, flex head, Model NB-57 ratchet off of ebucks. The tool came today looking pristine new! Great buy for me as I love those quality tools like New Britain and Snap-On.

Sadly this ratchet replaces the one my Dad gave me back in the early 1960's. As a teen, I worked in his shop in small town rural Nebraska. My job was to fix lawn mowers which he hated to do. Dad gave me a key to the shop and I was free to do whatever - turn wrenches, weld, grind, run his Logan lathe - all child abuse no doubt.

The New Britain ratchet from Dad had developed a floppy head and I just could not figure a way to fix it. Hence, this replacement. I did permanently fix the floppy flex head with 24 hr. epoxy rather than pitch it. This tool will go in the box I keep in the Ranger for emergency repairs.

I’ve spent a small fortune on drill bits, I’ve re-sharpened, shortened, etc. Half inch bits are $20-30 each locally, and I’ve bought 6 in the past two years, two of which are still good, two need sharpened, and two plus the 5 or so I used to have are gone. So I got something to make my life a little easier and hopefully spend a little less to make holes in steel…

The four slugs in my hand are the first four holes. 1/2” diameter (technically 13mm) through 1/8” steel plate. Like butter. The instructions suck, but fortunately it isn’t hard to figure out. 5 punch sets, from 0.3” up to 0.8”. Supposedly it will punch up to 0.2” thick steel, but I’m probably going to see if it will do 0.25” thick. Now I need to find something else that needs holes…

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: You bought a raccoon schween?!??!?

Hung like a raccoon has an entirely new meaning...

I'd like to say I would have done the same but that might be hard to explain to my kids & grandparents... I can see my 10 year old telling his grandpa, "yeah, that's Brett's raccoon dick!!!"

I bought a set of trim faster removal tools so I could remove the trim panels without breaking the push-pin clip thingers without breaking them. Well, they break anyway. So, now I have to find replacement push-pin clip thingers.

I bought a box of ford push pins in surplus at P.A. Also bought an Actron CP9690 Elite autoscanner. It does both OBD 1 and 2. Comes with half dozen adaptors to fit most brand OBD1 vehicles and does up to 2013 OBD2. Only downside is Actron no longer exists. I'll have to see if the unit came with the latest updates or I might return it.
