Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster! I have a 1994 Ex. Cab Mazda B3000 4x4, M5R1 5 spd, with the 3.0-no go Will update my profile pic to my rig once it gets light out. She's a pretty sweet set-up with plenty of issues...Oops, I meant "character" Slowly rebuilding her one piece at a time, eventually wanting to do a 5.0 swap, M5R2 or sequential, lift, and more! I have extensive knowledge with these old Ford's, previously owing a 94' single cab Mazda B3000, ext. cab 92' F-150 XLT Lariet 5.0 to 5.8 swap, and 91' single cab F-150 with the 300 in-line...and more rangers than I can count Keep an eye out for my posts, as I already have some questions to pick ya'lls brains with. Lol, idk about you, but I've always had a love-hate relationship with all my old Ford's They love to test my patience, and I hate carrying a shop's worth of tools with me for when they do! Jk jk, old is gold in my book, and so easy to work on. Best thing you can do is get yourself a good Haynes manual, or my "Fix-it Bible" as I call it

I have a Haynes that one of my brothers gave me.
But I bought a book I learned about here on TheRangerStation off eBay before my brother gave me the Haynes.
The book I learned about here on TheRangerStation is titled:
Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual.

I like older vehicles as well. I did 20 years in prison. I got out last year, hence my screen name.

The reason I say I'm a novice is because I have 20 years of car knowledge that I have to catch up on still.

Congrats on the freedom! That old Ranger will keep you too busy to get yourself into anymore trouble, that's for sure!

However, that old truck is also a great start to get yourself acquainted. Just old enough to still be easy to work on, with just enough electronics to still drive you insane!

I'll definitely check your thread out! I love reading through other people's problems so maybe if I ever run into the same issue, I'll already have a head start on fixing it. Which, btw, is way more valuable than any manual could ever be.

Pics as promised. 15'10" canoe on top, white tube houses my fishing pole and anchor (front axel shaft out of an 07 dodge 1500 ), wood that is sticking up is my homemade paddle, coolers house my food, metal can houses my tackle box and doubles as a carrier for the fish I catch, cedar wood for my little charcoal grill for cooking, and toolbox has all my tools/fluids for this ol' girl. Just picked up the screen material for free on marketplace, and has done wonders at keeping those pesky bugs out. I would like to find some 4.5 mil plexiglass and build something like the Breezeway Screens that are available for semi-trucks. Inside has my clothes and toiletries. Ripped out the old seats and replaced with a beefed up "futon" couch that lays flat. Pretty cramped to sleep inside when I have to, but usually I tie off my hammock to the ladder rack and a tree, waaayyy better for sleeping!

For those who are wondering, yes, I do live out of this thing. Combination of former job downsizing (worked in construction, and builders down here overbuilt like crazy...now people are leaving FL in droves and few are buying) and my landlord raising my rent an extra $500 means I'm roughing it. Studio apartments are going for $1800-$2000/mo, or an illegal "private" room in a shared house (no rental contracts involved, cash only, very sketchy, what people are calling an "efficiency") going for $700/mo+

I'm nomadic by nature though, so I don't mind. Spent years as a truck driver, so I'm used to my house on wheels.

Still looking for work, but not looking good in this economy, considering McDonald's isn't even hiring. I am writing a military sci-fy book though, and should be finished with the rough draft in a month or so. Then publish on Kindle Direct Publishing and wait for people to buy it!

Yeah, she runs good when she wants to, but she's definitely a tired ol' truck

Thanks for the well wishes, it's been 3 weeks so far and haven't gone hungry yet. Thank goodness for free fishing licenses for residents
