Hi guy's.. I have a 99 ranger XLT 4x4 manual 288k miles. Doesn't leak or burn oil between 5k oil changes super well maintained. Now .. everything seems to be failing, broken leaf a month ago. Now cyl 6 misfire OBD2 code and lean condition in left bank. Rough idle but pulls strong. I've replaced coil pack wires and plugs, same problem. Replaced all injectors and Lean condition went away. Next I'm going to do compression test and cylinder leak down. Am I completely missing something? 🥴

Howdy!!

Which engine? If the 3.0, mine has idled oddly the whole 2.5 or 3 years i have owned it. It feels like one of those odd fire 6s from back in the day

Just to clarify, injectors fixed the lean condition but not the miss?

is it a 3.0?

if yes, a short note about compression testing. the 3.0 has a narrow spark plug tunnel. some compression tester
hoses don't fit and a short 1" extension/adapter is needed to thread the hose into the plug hole.

regardless of which engine, we love pictures. ( of Rangers )

O2 sensors?
If there are no pics, it doesn't exist....

Welcome to TRS. :p

Welcome to the TRS forums.

Please go into your profile here and put in the information on your truck so that it is easier to know what year truck/engine/suspension you are asking questions about. This will show up on the left of the PC screen or if we tip the cell sideways we can glance at what your truck specs are.

Welcome to TRS. :p
Well in this line of thinking, Does the OP need a pic of the cylinder that is misfiring because if there is no pic there is no problem? :icon_twisted:
