Hello all, new here.

I'm trying to get into the world of trail riding was curious to know what lift to get. I've been reading a lot of the tech articles and cruising the forum. I've decided to get a lift. I'm thinking either a Rough country 4" suspension lift or a 2" supreme suspension lift because of the price points. I want to hit trails like the one in East TN Royal Blue called the Sand Mines trail. I'm not sure if 31s and the 2" would be enough. Any expertise would be greatly appreciated.
I have a stock '97 Ranger XLT extended cab. 8.8 rear and Dana 35 in front... (I think) and its setting on 235x75 15 Kumho Road Venture AT. (she is white and nerdy and my daily driver)

About the supreme suspension kit it is cheap, too cheap? Do the spacers for the front coil springs last?

The tech article about the RC said it may damage the axle housing, is that a real big issue? Also, that it may not line up to stock holes in the frame, any input there?

Be gentle to my "bootness" (newness)... Thanks

Rough County lifts aren't really that great but if you're just gonna wheel some light trails it should be fine. Plus you can always upgrade later... If you do decide to buy one get it for a non 4.0L the coils are 445 PPI instead of 480.

The diff "shouldn't" be a problem until you get longer radius arms and softer coils, but to be safe after the brackets are on, lift the drivers beam (without the coil) up to were it hits and measure how far to lower the bumpstop.

From a quick youtube search I would think you would want a 4" lift and 33's at the min.
