Hey guys. I have had my 98 2.5L Ranger for 4 years now, and it (for the most part) has been great. Its my DD while I go to school, since my H/C Trans Am doesn't get the best of gas mileage in the city. But now that I have my car almost done (needs some more tunning, and DR's), I want to make this Ranger a lil more fun to drive. Right now I am thinking about lowering it, throwing some wider wheels on it, and it would be nice if I could turbo it. Questions I need to know though....
1. How strong are the internals? Pistons, rods, crank? I don't want a lot of power, but I don't want to shoot (another) Rod through my block.
2. Transmission strength? I know if I swap a small block in the truck, the trans will go boom...but how will the trans, hell the drive shaft and rear end also, hold up with a baby turbo set up? Or maybe a bottle?
3. Anyone make a nice tach for our trucks that can be put in a not so obvious and hideous location? I don't want to look all rice with a huge tach on my dash (I know drag cars do this also...just throwing out the most common thing with after market tachs is on the ricers).
Thanks guys.
