new B2 from GA

its just a remove, cut a hole and replace type deal with the case?

and i'll get to hubs later. just trying to fix the broke right now. I'll get to fixing the working after the broke is fixed.

assuming the hubs aren't broke and in need of fixing.

i still havent installed my linkage yet, but from what i understand, you dont have to cut a hole. i have a manual trans though. if you have an auto, then you may need to cut a hole, i'm not sure.

sweet. even better. i have a manual. I'm gonna start searching for manual transfer cases then, instead of screwing with this ES one i have now.

there's nothing wrong with the 1350E's, the shift motors on the back just wear out eventually. if that's the stock shift motor, then it's 25 years old, probably about time for a replacement lol.

if you wanna stretch it out, you can undo the wiring pigtails that plus into the shift motor and clean them out. use some wiring cleaner and then plug them up with some dielectric grease and that should keep them pretty sealed up. might buy you another year of using the electric t-case.

a lot of people switch them out just for the reliability. i know my hubs are locked when physically get out and turn them and i know i'm in 4H or 4L when i shift the t-case. with an electric, you can find out that you arent properly engaged during the middle of a mud hole and that's not a good time to find out the 4wd is screwy

first off, welcome.
second off, i'm glad you got a b2 and not some pos ranger! lol.. jk
third, more pics!
fourth, start a build thread pronto!

well i'm pretty sure i will have to rebuild the case i have now anyways. i too the shift motor off to try to turn the shaft myself and i cant get it to pop into gear and it feels like im fighting a spring in it. and plus my high range button doesn't work.

and that last paragraph is what sells me. when you shift into gear you can feel it. From my journeys of wheeling with my buddies, simple is better. manual is simpler. less stuff than can go wrong. more reliable/enjoyable the wheeling experience is for everyone involved.

sign up for a photobucket or something like it, and go for it! document everything you do, it helps people in the future when they run into the same problems you are having.
