I've come across similar products before, nothing quite like Neverwet, but similar. Used to be a great water repellent for putting on concrete and masonry, it would repel water just like that with one application and would last at least 10 years before performance on a driveway would begin to degrade, a quick mist and it'd be like new again though. Stuff would sell itself, couldn't keep enough on hand. Painted half a concrete brick with it and when talking about it would drop the brick into a bucket of water. When half the brick instantly goes dark and you pull it out and half is soaked and half is dry.... nuff said. Only problem was, the EPA decided that it worked too good, so it's no longer available.... anywhere. The water-based stuff they replaced it with doesn't work half as good.
That said... I may have to look into getting a couple cans of Neverwet....
