If you saw a title that says "crankshaft crank bearing/seal kit LT230S 87-93 fre ship"

And then in the middle of this page it says, "FREE SHIPPING WITH THIS ORDER"

And then at the bottom of the page it says, "Buyer to pay shipping and handling of $4.00."

1) What would you think?
2) Would you be surprised to find $4 tacked on to the total at checkout?

It never hurts to send a quick email...

I did. Here is the reply, "the 4 dollars is a handling fee if you read the whole description it states that"

Sounds like it's $4 then. Maybe he meant to say Freight shipping? It's a small item though....

Sounds like the shipping is free, but he hits you up on the handle part of the deal, haha. Funny thing is is that me and another guy were talking about that at work today. Saying how people might be able to get away with giving free shipping on things, but charging them for the handling part.

Yes,,, which seems like it would be fine if you made it clear that the $4 is for handling. Instead, he sticks it cleverly at the bottom of the page following a bunch of free shipping flags. Its taking advantage of the fact that no one is accustomed to paying a separate handling charge. Its a trap by design.

The whole thing is like a magic trick.... keeping your attention with one hand waving a sign saying "FREE SHIPPING" and then picking your pocket with the other for the handling charge. :D

after reading his feedback, mainly the negatives, i would not purchase from him. it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. in my opinion, if a seller wants to reply to negative feedback, be professional about it and have some tact.

Yes, I agree. Thanks for all the opinions.

Bikebandit has them for $37 also (Quadboss... pretty much the same thing.... Japanese bearings). The thing was ebay had a 10% off coupon until the 29th and I couldn't think of a better thing to use it on. But I'll go with Bikebandit anyway since I need all the oil seals as well and those are oem-only parts.
