i have just bought a explorer, it is a 99 4.0sohc 5r55e trans 4.10 limited slip. i bought it originally for the rear end, to put into my 99 ranger 3.0 ff. but with 33s my 3.0 is a dog!!! i believe the explorer engine and trans should bolt right up to my bw1354 no problem they are both 99s so the pats system should be the same. can anyone give me some pointers in this swap i want it to go quick and trouble free. wiring differences, fuel pressures, will the flex fuel system in my ranger be a problem (i never run e85). let me know the ins and outs of this thanks

Your 99 has a different sized fuel line and an alcohol sensor in the fuel line. I know because a previous owner jammed the wrong non-FFV filter in the lines on my truck. I'm not sure the fittings will be the same at the engine end of things...

Ex lines are shorter than the ranger, and you will also have a pats issue to work out...

I thought that the 98-01 explorer should have the same pats as my 99 ranger the explorer is a 99 also

Ok its not 100% compatable if i want to use my old keys with the explorer pcm i will have to have them reprogramed...ie.keeping the same ignition
