Need help diagnosing my problem

I have a 96 ranger with the 4.0 and I have a code that is p1443 but I read so many different things I have no idea to start to fix it . It idles kind of rough but when on the accelerator it’s great any ideas of what I could do to get the idle nice again . I put all new O2 sensors in with plugs and wires and new coil checked all my vacuum lines and no leaks . Thanks In advance.

That code is an evap purge valve malfunction. Either the valve itself is bad and stuck open or there is a leak somewhere in the line from the fuel tank to the valve, or line from the valve to the intake manifold. There are some other possibilities like a leak at the vent valve, malfunctioning pressure sensor etc, but with the engine idling poorly I'd suspect the valve itself is stuck open causing a vacuum leak.

If the purge valve is functioning and or closed the rest of the evap system can leak or be faulty all it wants and not effect the engine. You'll simply get an evap code. When the purge valve is stuck open you have fuel vapor constantly flooding into the engine which will cause rough idling. The issue will seem to go away when you're on the gas and moving because there is less engine vacuum so the leak becomes proportionally less.
