Need help deciding on a cam

Then the build up may be past what ATF fluid can do. Try some off the shelf stuff and see what it can do for ya.

Since your redoing the heads anyways and that where alot of build up occurs, then I wouldnt worry to much other then make sure the return ports are clear.

Lets hope the A4ld can hold up to the upgrades you are doing to the engine.

should, its actually doing pretty dam good right now. if not im gonna fm146 it anyways. gotta send off payment for some of my parts tomorrow...

im prolly gonna do 2 treatments of amsoil engine flush before i tear it down. bobistheoilguy.com gave it good reviews

but i know i accidentally bought a qrt of atf and put it in my jeep with a 350/383 then realized it was atf...i drove it for about 1500 miles and some nastyness chunks come out...and that was on a crate motor with about 30k miles lol, but every 3k miles when i changed the oil it looked brand new...might try that next oil change

My step dad put a quart in his s10 and ran it for that long and the same stuff came out when he drained his oil.

I'm not sure why you want to knock sludge loose in your engine with ATF. If you are going to tear it down, just clean it when it is apart - a hot tank job would be recommended.
We used to run Casite through an engine every now and then to keep it clean BUT it can dislodge clumps of sludge if the engine has lots of miles on it. I have also ran 5w oil briefly as a sort of flush, then drained and re-filled with 10-30 or whatever I thought the engine needed.

Just an opinion

i dont wanna do much with the bottom end, compression is awesome, no knocking. dont wanna mess with a good thing

Good engine flush: 4 quarts of 30 or 40w NON-Detergent oil, and 1 quart of kerosene. Run for 15-20 minutes.

I've just emailed a company in WA that does regrinds on just about every cam there is. Waiting to hear back on Monday if they can do anything, or offer anything, for the 2.8. They seem to be much cheaper than any of the aftermarket sources for other cams.

ok need another cam reccomendation. swapping out a fm146 for my a4ld. pedals and swap parts about to be on the shipping truck...maybe in time for christmas
