How bloody fast was he going? Racing the light maybe? Look like he may have done a fair bit of damage there. Totally sucks though, you have a nice clean truck. If I were you I'd make him pay for all the parts to repair the damage. I don't believe the "brakes quite working" line. Even if he lost all vacuum assist there should still be the regular hydraulic force from the pedal.

I wouldn't worry about the TTB pivot point. I would check it but I doubt theres any damage to it. I would have a closer look at what ever came back and smacked it though. can't tell what from the pics.

The radius arm bracket looks ok from that picture. I would say its only busted out the bushing set.

You might be lucky and only need a bushing set for the radius arm. and tire rim.

I would start with just a bushing set. see how the vehicle sits afterwords. if the tire is still pushed back then either the radius arm or the radius arm bracket is bent as well.

X2

I been told he was going 35 I would have to say faster, but even if it was 35 its still to fast its not a sports car its a truck.
I have not started the truck, the master is full, and it feels I have some force there. As of two years ago all I rebuilt all 4 breaks replaced all the hydraulic parts, new pads, shoes, and drums

Well it did not show in the photo but the radius bracked is all wrinked. Two years ago I install polyurethen bushings and the pivet points.

Sorry for the double post, I guess that's what I get for using a phone.
I all so for to add I did not replace the master

I suspect you're probably just looking at a radius arm, the RA frame bracket/crossmember, and of course a wheel. But do take a good look under there carefully comparing it to the driver side (or another RBV if you have one) to make sure everything else is OK.

it seems I can get a whole D35 for $200. there just going to cut thy frame, so that covers all the parts I need, but I cant find one with 4:10, I keep finding 3.73.
how hard would it be to change out the gears?

4.10 D35s are out there, but they are quite a bit more rare than 3.73 ones (you have to look specifically in '90-'92 2.3L & 2.9L trucks).

To change the actual gears is no easy task and requires a number of special tools. There's a lot of precise specifications that if not adhered to, can lead to the destruction of the gears and/or bearings. It would be best to have a rearend shop do the swap (there are some links about swapping gears in the FAQ at the top of the Axles section if you want to read up on it though).

i got the truck to my moms place so I can work on it today here is what I found so far
The front breaks don't seem to work but the back.
the radius arm, the RA frame bracket, pivot for the left side, the spindle, steering linkage is all bent bend.

At this point I think I am better off with a D35 and just bolt it in and be done. just have to find 4.10 and manual hubs, so far I am out of luck at the local yards. anyone want to trade a 3.75 for a 4.10? lol thy all seem to have something in the 3.??

There are 2 listed on www.car-part.com with a 4.10 ratio. They are wrecking yards, one is in Colorado. If they don't have manual hubs, it's not hard to change it over, especially if your old diff is a D35. You have all the parts for a conversion right there if so.

I did the search for a 96 Ranger.

U can just pull out your 3rd member and drop it in the new d 35

'96 will likely have a D28/35 hybrid diff (basically a D28 with D35 shafts that neck down inside the diff). This might not matter much if you're running stock sized tires, but to get an actual D35, you must get it out of a '90-'92 2.3 or 2.9L model (with auto trans only for 2.9 models).

I am pretty much sticking to 29 to 31 size tires. I have 29 on it now, but i am going to have to switch to my spare set will I get find a replacement wheel

I been offered a d35 with 4.10 how do i make sure its a 4.10 and its good?
i don't want to dump $150 for nothing
