I work for Dana Corp. They told us awhile back they were moving some of our work to Mexico. Well next week they are actually bringing in the mexicans to watch and learn how to run our machines. By our contract all they can do is watch.

Now, would it be ok if I wore a Sombraro? We were thinking about getting everyone to wear one. Sound ok? Any suggestions?

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are they gunna fire every employee that wears one hahahaha doubtful

Get everyone that works there to get everyone that they know to peacfully protest with huge signs out front on public property (go by the law). Invite every news agency in existence including newspapers and tell them its going to be big. Have sign's bearing the likeness of the Dana/Spicer CEO with slogans such as TRAITOR, SELL OUT, UN- AMERICAN. DO NOT by any mean's be racist/hateful or demening towards Mexico or our LEGAL immigrants and guest's, that would defeat your porpuose and be contrary to the constitution of the USA and make you an ugly human. This is not a race issue and nobody should make it one. Its root's are founded in politics and greed/money. You folks want to stop this and keep your dam jobs better act NOW but do it within the law and you will see results, make it go viral on youtube and the news networks. I am greatful for veterans and current enlisted but they fought/fight so we can fight battles like this and not get shot in the street. You and your co-workers have a mission... either you stand down or you stand up.

get everyone in the whole shop to get t shirts that have made in the USA lets keep it that way and wear them that day. We still have freedom of speech the last i know

I think this is a good idea.

when Maytag was in the process of closing the refrigerator plant in Galesburg Il. there were a few employees that did that while wearing a sign that said Maytag new hires for halloween.

well if you're about to get laid off anyhow, what's it gonna hurt? besides, who says you can wear a sombrero?

maybe take some tequila too

Just gotta tell them "You're on my turf now."

Maybe bring in a donkey tricked out in Mexican colors with a tortilla stand would be appropriate....

Capitalism is fine.......until the greedy folks take over.....same old story....you let them learn how to do YOUR job.....they go HOME & get paid 50 cents an hour to do the same job.....

Honesty/fairness.........2 long-lost obsolete traditions!!!!!

I can understand your frustration but just be careful that whatever you do doesn't make you look a racist or a bigot because that won't help your cause at all.

And remember that the guys that are coming to watch are people too, they are trying to feed their families just like the rest of us-it's not their decision that work is being moved of of country-talk to your politicians about that...

Your union?

I've never had hopes for Dana since back in 2007, Dana cancelled 150 million shares of stock during bankruptcy.:flipoff:

Bankruptcy tends to change companies. You are in the business to survive, not in the business of supplying a good quality product anymore.

I would have figured they would have ditched the Union, hard to do when your a fortune 500 company.

Yeah they screwed over a bunch of people with that stock cancellation. There was a guy at work that lost just shy of 750K. The had to beg Caterpillar and Allison to except parts made in Mexico. They were just shipping them to Marion and letting us repack them in Marion boxes. They were able to get away with it because they said that we were "checking" the parts.

Been through a number of "downsizing" and farming out work...doesn't work out in the long run for the guys who are holding the fort otherwise...and I'm not sure that any kind of action is going to change the minds of the decision makers (MBA's with no worry about their own positions)...

But you can certainly try...but go for the throat or stay home...if it's only going to p'ss off your immediate employers then the only one you hurt is yourself...
