Need Advice... DANA 30 SAS...

everyone dog's the cad axle.. as far as ive seen(people i wheel with) they can hold up to some abuse so there not weak and if you throw a posi lock on it to engage it then you can say bu bye to the vacume actuator,

i kinda wanted one just so i can run a locker up front and not worry bout driving in the snow or on the street

One day in the way future I plan on putting an aussie locker in mine.

A reason that the JK axle is not so popular, even with the Jeep crowd is that it uses the BIG chevy bolt pattern, 5 on 5. It is also an odd ball width for the majority of folks to run, as you end up having to get the matching axle to keep your track width anywhere close to equal, and parts for it are still stupid priced, as it is a new player to the field. I do agree, that with time, the cost of parts will come down, but the initial headaches of ownership are overweighing, I feel.

...no way i would agree with that personally. a spanking new axle you can keep abs with and a selectable locker and axleshafts stouter then most aftermarket d44;s its a no brainer for a 2wd swap or a guy with sla that wants lift and 35-37 in tires.

5x5 isnt an issue at all when buying new 35's and wheels....not that there isnt a myriad of cost effective ways around that issue.

All the Jeep guys I know with a CAD axle, ditch the CAD mechanism and put a one piece axle shaft in the place of the two piece, and put a plate over the CAD opening.

I have a CAD axle to use and it will get a one piece axle shaft as soon as I find one.
