Well Ive got my 1998 ranger xlt 2wd that's been sitting. Iam 16 Soon to be getting this on the road. Iam extremely mechanically inclined and will be doing my own work as i have been working on everything since i was 11. My truck needs___

-2 Rear Shackles With hardware

-2 Medium/Heavy Duty Rear shocks And hardware

-1 High beam switch

-And Some rear brake seeing as i have just about no rear brakes.

___ I would also like to know IF and where is my front torsion adjuster For the front end as id like to give it a few cranks Just an inch or two as far as i can go without screwing up the alignment.

I have 450 to spend that i got from selling a touring bike i picked from the trash. How much for my repairs.?

if your looking for lift in the rear go with chevy belltech shackles their about 52 bucks on summit

I would order the parts from www.RockAuto.com. They seem to have the best prices.

Shocks - I have Skyjackers and I like them. I don't see what is wrong with Monroes though, which I think you get from Rock Auto. You may want to look into Pro-Comp shocks from www.TRSfabandoffroad.com too. They are here http://www.trsfabandoffroad.com/products/procomp_shock.htm.

The high beam switch I would get from the junkyard, you are going to overpay anywhere else. There is a guy parting out a messed up 2005 FX4 on here that may be able to help you out. It is here http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48412.

You should be able to get your parts for well under $300.

From experience, I can tell you with the rear brakes. Replace the spring kit and retainers when you do the shoes. Don't forget to get the drums turned as well at your local auto shop.

Finally, 2wd Rangers with IFS do not have torsion bars, they have coil springs. You need bigger springs or spacers to achieve lift.

Hope I answered all your questions.

I thought the edge edition rangers were IFS and torsion bars, that is kinda what made them a edge susp. wise.

If it was an edge/trailhead, it would be torsion bars, but his is an XLT which means Coil sprung IFS
