Since I am converting my 2000 2wd Ranger from an automatic to a 5 speed, I need to bore a hole in the lower firewall for the boot on the hydraulic master cylinder to lock into - I believe I found an indent that was never drilled because my truck was ordered as an auto - first I need to ask if this is the correct location (no pedals installed at this time so it is not simply apparent to me) and also, if anyone has a parts truck laying around that could give me a dimension of that hole so I could run a hole saw through the steel - thank you

that doesn't look right. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow of my 2000 auto & 2005 manual.
do you have the bracket that the master cylinder locks into with a 1/4 turn?

That looks way too low to me. IIRC the clutch master is going to be almost as high on the firewall as the brake master, but I'm more familiar with the older Rangers. I'm almost positive that there is already a hole in the firewall for it, just filled with a rubber grommet or similar.

It may the rubber plug seen higher up, above his knuckle in the pic.

I’m fairly certain the master cylinder goes into the same hole that the auto shifter linkage uses.

The hole where the cable runs out to go to the trans

Yes, I bought and restored the proper pedal assembly I do not have the rest of it yet but the clutch master cylinder/reservoir is coming in the mail this week from Rock Auto - thanks

Once I receive my new clutch master cylinder, this week from Rock Auto, once installed in the pedal frame, I should make it a bit more clear where it has to go through the firewall - thanks

Nice work on the pedal assembly. Looks like you did new bushings, too.

OK.
using the mounting holes as reference point, envision the clutch master cylinder pointing down and angled
towards the firewall. the hoses will be on the engine side if the firewall.

That's the area I envisioned, but I was thinking a blank plug for some reason. I'd recently looked at my firewall and couldn;t remember seeing the plug though. That explain why, it had a cable going through it.

I removed all of this stuff today relating to shifting the automatic transmission shown in photo #1 - - Photo #2 question: at the end of the shifter handle is an on/off button, my question is "what is that for?" - - Photo #3 & 4 question, "this is the shifter barrel and is there anything that it now used to control, in the column, that I now have to secure down or up in a particular position so the truck will start and run with the T5 installed? Thanks to everyone that has helped me so far!
