Need a couple of measurements please

I'm trying to help a friend figure what's up with his Ranger. He states that after installing a lift, his track width shrank by almost 1.5".

I no longer have my TTB so I can't go off my rig. I'm needing someone to please get me a couple measurements so we can compare.

Here's what I need:
A) Measurement of each beam from C of pivot bolt to outer rotor surface (I figured this could be measured without taking the wheel off to get to WMS)

B) Measurement from C of pivot bolt to outside of opposite frame rail. (would be just shorter of the measurement to outer rotor)

This will tell me, A) that his beams aren't bent and are correct length and, B) that his lift brackets are positioning the beams correctly.

His is a 95 Ranger with a 3" lift--D35 front. He says that after installing the lift, the pass. side axle shaft splines at the center u-joint are coming in contact with the center u-joint.

Ideas?

The B measurement would be different depending on drop brackets so you would need the measurement from something with the same drop brackets correct?

Should be the same. Different lifts shouldn't make the truck wider or narrower, correct??

I'm just wanting something to go off of. I was gonna stop by a used car lot tomorrow and crawl under to get measurements from a stocker if no one chimed in.

How about from outer edge of rotor to outer edge of rotor? (I'm getting right about 55¼ inches on mine).

For the driverside beam, I'm showing 39" from center of pivot bolt to outer rotor edge with the tape going just below the steering arm of the knuckle (measuring across the face of the beam, wheels pointed straight).

The same measurement on the passengerside beam is not as easy to get, instead I went from directly underneath the pivot bolt to the zerk fitting of the lower ball joint (measured along the bottom of the beam) and am getting 29" for that.

I'm not too sure on pivot bolt to framerail measurements, to me it looks like there's too many variables to get anything useful without being more specific (lift height will affect this measurement because the bracket would be further away (lower) from the frame, and even if measuring in a straight line there's many points of reference on the curvy frame that would give a different reading).

I'm thinking if a beam or bracket is bent, one side tire should be noticeably further into the fender than the other, so you might check for that.

Let me know if that helps, I'll try to get you additional specific measurements if needed.

Hey, I'm thankful for anything. I appreciate anyone actually taking the time to crawl under and do it.

From what I've seen so far, everything looks fine as far as the lift. I'm thinking it has something to do with the actual axle or beam. I'll see if I can get him to send me some pictures to help out.

Mucho thanx Junkie! I'd rep you but I don't know how, Lord knows you've helped me a ton over the last year!

Yeah pics always do help. It sounds to me like he's already lost the little dust cap on the inside of the yoke. That'll need to be replaced (welded closed with a round circle or something) if the spline is to stay lubed at all.
