Few more updates. Instead of going with the standard tube hoops (had some bent and was in the process of fitting them and gave up :P) I decided this idea was simpler and easier to fit under the hood.

Passenger side it assembled and tacked in place, all the pieces for the drivers side are cut out and ready to be fitted together and made to fit around the hump in the frame at the steering box. They will then get a cross over bar to tie them together to stop inward flex. They will be getting welded to the frame.

Should have some pics of the other side tomorrow!

And the other side! The hump in the frame wasn't that bad to work around, I think I have enough clearance to the shock body, but I won't know for sure until I cycle everything with the track bar in place. If need be I will cut out the hump section and rework it back in nice and flat like the passenger side is. Seem to have lots of clearance to the brake master cylinder ( I know it will have to be changed out to a larger unit for the 1 ton brakes but I should have enough room) Still need to bend a cross over bar to tie them together, thinking that the bar will be bolted to the top of each shock tower. Also snapped a picture of the engine crossmember that has been drastically trimmed back and plated in back in to clear everything. Also my truck now seems to have a coolant leak...found a couple drips on the drivers side of the block dripping onto the axle housing....yay for something else to be fixed!

I like how you went with it, definitely would have been easier than the way I went. We are about the same place fab wise, but I've been away from the shop for over a month now, and I won't get back to it til the second week of January. Hopefully I can get it rolling by then. Keep up the work, looks great :icon_thumby:

Alright, little more progress. Got some knew balljoints in the knuckles and reamed the knuckles out for a tie rod flip.

Gotta figure out my pitman arm situation. Probably going with a 32 spline superduty arm as they are flat, beefy and longer than a ranger piece.

Also got my shock tower brace in

Once I get the pitman figured out, the track bar brackets and bar can be built.

can you use a SD pitman arm on a Ranger steering box????

Ya there is a 32 and a 36 spline option. Tha ranger uses the 32 spline.

Alright....steering is sorted out. Ended up going with a stock ranger pitman arm and reaming it out for the chevy 1 ton tie rod mounted on top of it. It is an extreme angle tie rod end and has lots of side to side travel. If I mounted it under as it was stock the tie rod would contact the tie rod end under full stuff.

Started on the track bar mounts and bar tonight. Got the bar fabbed and the joints tacked onto it. The axle end will mount through the web of the truss itself, and I will build around it to make it in double shear. I started on the frame end mount as well. Got it all fabbed and welded together, just needs the holes drilled and to be welded to the frame and a bit of bracing.

Alrighty....it is almost of the stands! I just need to grab some bearings from work, and get the hubs on and bolt the tires on. I will try and get my nitrogen tank/regulator and hose set up on thursday so I can get it off the bump stops.

Well got my nitrogen bottle/hose today...grabbed an old regulator we had at work. Seems it is fubar and barely puts out any nitrogen pressure. Also found my steering binds at the pitman arm near full droop, seems I won't be able to use the full 14" of travel these shocks have. Also the passenger side shock body hits the frame at full droop at the track bar pulls the axle to the drivers side. This is due to the shorterish track bar, but there isn't much I can do there...it is the same length and parallel to my drag link which is exactly what you want for no bump steer. I can move the lower mounts out on the axle about an inch to 1.5" more to give a bit more room. Looking like I can limit strap it to 12" of travel and that will help a lot as well, or try and trade my 14" shocks for some 12"ers.

nice, now get it on the trail!
