NAIAS Debut Tomorrow?

They ought to have a truck in time to demo at the East show, too.

I'd like to take one of these pre-production Rangers, run it up to ARB USA in Washington, have them build a bumper for it, add a winch and other accessories, put an ARB tent above the bed, and then take it to Overland Expo. Get feedback. Maybe get people to take a survey. I believe what makes some vehicles popular is the amount of aftermarket support they have. You have to get people interested, and create a vision for the possibilities.

I wonder how much of the aftermarket stuff from the ROW markets like Australia will fit this body? I'm guessing fender flares will fit since they should extend far enough up from the edge of the wheel openings to cover the lip trim which seems to be the biggest difference.
The bumpers may not fit since the mounting points for our bumpers were changed.
Other things like roof racks, light bars, etc. probably will fit or might require minor tweaking.
I wonder how difficult it would be to set up an import business? wink, wink.

I'm guessing snorkels and fender flares. Front bumpers might be questionable, but it looks like the aftermarket covers the fascia. The current bumper offerings may work if Ford didn't change the mounts.

The ROW Ranger is in Mexico; do we need to set something up with one of our fellow Ranger Station members from down south?

Tonneau covers - soft and hard; Caps; Bull bars; Westland RV 7.6 camper; etc.

I'm sure the feds will make it as painless as possible. :icon_rofl:

on a better note, I recently purchased a ROW intake manifold for a 2.5 Duratec I-4. its a genuine Ford part, intended for the Brazilian market. so it can be done. be sure to specify "off road use only" :D

Didn't Ford make a point of stating that they DID change the mounts "Because a real truck should have steel bumpers" (or something to that effect)? I thought they may have even said they changed the length of the frame to accommodate the new bumper mounts...

They made a point of saying that real trucks have bumpers. They dropped the facia and added a steel bumper, but I don't know hoe the facia attaches. I'm sure it still has some type of bumper mount at the end of the frame rail.

Externally the snorkel would interchange. Probably wouldn't be plug and play under the hood.

They said they changed the frame... which may or may not bode well for bumpers.

I like the design of these flares:

I was only half kidding. I just put up a brand new 40x50 steel building with an overhead loft for parts storage.

I could live in that :)

There are plenty of days that I wish I did!

If your garage is bigger than your house and the rafters are high enough to hang a deer from...you just might be a redneck.:shok:

Bullet dodged... :bawling:

Could hang a deer but it is barely bigger than my Ranger let alone my house.

My barn is pretty fair sized though. :icon_thumby:
