Ok, so I've done this V8 swap:icon_welder: from a 97 explorer into my 97 explorer 2dr sport. I've gotten everything buttoned up... but I've got electrical issues!!!:icon_confused:

I don't have any reaction when I turn the key to crank the motor.. but if I jump the relay with a wrench the starter cranks. Which in turn lead us to finding there's no spark either. WE have power going to the coil but nothing coming out of it.:dunno: And my guess would be that it has to deal with the ignition.

We used the complete engine, trans., and engine compartment harness, including the V8 fuse block etc...:annoyed:

So if I could get some info. that would be greatly appreciated...

You might have issues with the PATS system between the two computers.

Well you say it can crank, you have power to the coils but nothing coming out. I'd sure guess ignition also but have no clue how to track the problem down.

if you have power to the coil that means the power is coming out of the ignition switch, you should have power on the ground side also with it plugged in and the key on. You need to have some one turn the key to crank and see if you are getting power to your starter relay....

Ok, so I have no power coming through the trigger wire to the starter relay... equalling the no crank from turning the key, which I don't know if that would tie that into no power coming out of the coils

Well I have got it to crank with the key.. but still no spark out of the coils.. Just put brand new ones on.. still nothing
