My tail gate handle doesn't open first try all the time

Yesterday my tail gate handle didn't open for 2 times maybe when my dad when to lift up on my tail gate handle.

Is there a easy and quick fix for this ?

I fixed the problem all i needed to do was use some wd 40 and now my tail gate handle unlocks the first time every time.

My Dad said he could notice the improvement and that my tail gate handle operates smoother and better.

a little bit of white lithium grease on the catches on either side, and take the interior panel off the tailgate and put a dab on all of the linkage pins.

the lithium grease will last a lot longer than the WD 40.
