My Son-in-Law needs help!

Thanks men......he was doing "better" today.....(better=just glad to be alive)

Update: Son in law has lost ONLY 40 pounds....

good news is.....his weight is stable now---I asked him"Are you getting ready for the Olympics?.............he got a laugh out of that...

he's been stuck in his house since June I think....he got up the enrgy to ride with my daughter to Christmas shop.....that was a goal of his...

Monday he gets the results of the PT Scan to see what his liver looks like...

Glad to hear this DG. Got to keep him motivated to help that healing.

My son in law got the imaging results yesterday:

the multiple tumors on his liver didn't shrink/but didn't get any bigger(I guess he reached one of those "plateaus" that the doctors talked about....kinda like when someone is on a diet)

he feels a little better---doesn't have to stay in bed/on the couch all the time

annnnd....he won't have to wear that intrvenous chemo pump during the week in between hospital treatments which last 6 hours at a time....

people have done fundraisers for him/in January his $5,000 deductible is due again(just paid $5,000 4 months ago for 2012)....

BUT THE FUNDRAISERS HAVE COVERED IT.....and he'll be able to keep up with the mortgage!

Sounds like good news all around...especially about the mortgage and deductible...sending more prayers to see about speeding up the recovery and sending those renegade cells packing...

Thanks for all the prayers/sincere thoughts.......S.I.L. completed his second day at work in the last 6 months!!!!!!

Isn't it great when God gives a "Thumbs-Up"!

The Docs said there would be plenty of highs n lows.........

Considering he nearly died three different times from complications...we're hoping for a nice calm Christmas....

Life is good, but nobody said it was gonna be easy. Keep on keeping on. Above all, stay positive.

I'm pretty sure the quote is " Life is a bed of roses. You just have to watch out for the thorns"........
Wishing your SIL the best for the upcoming wonderful holiday it is and the culture & happiness it brings :icon_thumby: -

Son-in-law wore himself out....he was so glad to put some hours in at work that he overdid it....he's gotta stay home a couple days to get his strenght back...

He must have been running on 94 Octane adrenelin at first!

Excellent! What an awesome story.

Sent from a Commodore 64 using a 300 baud modem

Still keeping the prayers going.

Thanks again for the thoughts & prayers! Everybody have a great Christmas!

I lost track of this thread with the holidays......My Son-in-law had to stay in bed a week to get some of his strength back...

he can only work 1/2 a day each day or he gets too weak to drive home...

but he says half a day at work is better than staring at the bedroom ceiling all day!

He'll have another scan of his liver done in February or March...

the sad news is.......a work-friend of his had the same type of cancer & passed away during the holidays....

So.....thanks for the good thoughts and prayers......and for Heaven

Add my families name to the prayer list. Can't believe I missed this thread. Cancer survivors need to pull together and have mutual support :-)

I've known my son-in-law since he was about 13.....talk about a kid that grew up into a daddy that spoils his kids rotten :icon_rofl:
