My Son-in-Law needs help!

Son-in-law sold his Harley yesterday.....he had only a year left to pay on it....

but.....since he got cancer the insurances (Cobra/joke) and supplements are $1,200 a month---but he's GOT to have the stuff....and $500 a month for medicine/co-pays!

He said he'll get another motorcycle when he gets well since he's been to weak to ride it for 9 months....
Whew, that's expensive, still best of luck to him!

Bummer that he had to sell his bike. Offing your HD is always a tough thing to do. But in the other hand sounds like he is on the downhill side of whipping this thing. I may not post on this thread much but I do wish him all the best.

Son-in-law was making up for selling his Harley......he was tearing into a box of snack-cakes on his lap that he got during a trip to Mal-Wart!

He's felling a LITTLE better after having Chemo last tuesday.....

but he's still not up to doing any work around the house.....

gonna sell his 2 year old Zero-Turn riding mower...that'll get him 2 more months of health/life insurance---Thanks Mr. President: that universal healthcare is really working great.........NOT!

UPDATE: Son-in-law sold his zero turn mower yesterday (2 more months of health insurance paid for)---he really got a kick outta that thing---he'd even mow the neighbor's lawn for free/only took 10 minutes on that Rocket!

BUT.......he gets the results of his P-T scan today---his side/liver has been hurting a lot lately---they put him on a low dose of morphine.

(I'm still waiting for this journal to get some better news)

Thanks for keeping us informed. I've been keeping him in prayer.

The P_T scan showed more growths on his liver.......

forward 2 steps---------------------back one step.............

the doctors will talk with him Wednesday to decide what will happen next---whether he should continue with chemotherapy......

Im pullin for him, a very close friend of mine has leukemia and has been taking shots for it for about a year. He is suppose to have a break soon, but they just tested his blood the other day and his white cell lever hasn't done much so he has to do 3 more weeks of treatment so he can take a 6 month break. Wish the best for your son in law :icon_thumby:

Cancer sucks. I hate it. It is absolutely brutal. It amazes me that we can land on the moon, but we still have no cure for cancer.

More prayers for your SIL, my buddy DG. I can tell he is a fighter.

Sent from a Commodore 64 using a 300 baud modem

Keep praying and working on the positive attitude DG...I lost my sister to liver cancer about 10 years ago...she put up a good fight and found God in the process...this can be beaten...

I know there are a hundred or so things that people say helps fight cancer and I've read a bit recently about lemon juice being one of the best...one part lemon juice and ten parts prayer...

I'll send one part of the prayer today for your SIL...

Forgive us, Guide us, Bless us...

Thanks Men!

He's the best Son-in-Law that you could ask for (he spoiled my daughter rotten and the kids too!)

I'm hoping that he makes it thru this since I already lost my son to a murdering Illegal Mexican (God bless the Legal Mexicans)....and his sister lost her son a year later.......

Normally I'd be screaming "Where is God when we need him"....

But now I realize that he, God, is in an actual place called Heaven, getting things ready forever for each person who trusts in Jesus.

Sometimes it's a rough road before the journey is completed........

yeah, like that old saying "God promises a safe landing...not necessarily a smooth flight..."

Son-in-law has a conference scheduled with the Dr.s tomorrow (the last meeting was postponed until more test were received....

He hasn't been feeling as good lately ("good" as in "pain meds every day")

I keep reading this thread hoping that you were continuing to receive good news. Let's hope that it isn't any kind of major setback. I am waiting for the results of all the tests for a prostate issue.... I now wish I knew your son in law personally. I want to tell you that waiting and wondering isn-t the easiest thing you will ever go through. I have suddenly developed a new perspective about many things.

I wish we would focus more on things like cancer research instead of all these other silly things. Best of luck to him still.

Well.....there's a setback....he has to restart the strong chemo again---5 hours every other Tuesday & carry a medicine pump on his belt for 6 days a month again/his lymph nodes are starting to get bigger....

and yes, the waiting on results will drive you insane unless you get a new perspective....and getting bad results too doesn't help....I have learned to trust that Jesus will help me thru bad times....one way or the other....

Hang in there on the prostrate issue...my F-i-Law may have to go thru that treatment.

I wish we would focus more on things like cancer research instead of all these other silly things. Best of luck to him still.

Tell me about it!
