For a while now ive been debating on if Its worth it to keep my 93 Ranger... I decided im going to keep it. I want to go in a new direction with it though. I want to get normal front fenders and a normal bed for it, Do a SAS with a Dana 30 from the front end of a Jeep and eventually 4 link it. What do you guys think? :woot:

Also to try and attempt to get the rear end off the aftermarket block and back to the stock block, Im going to get Explorer Leafs and Beltech shackles...? Do you think I will have enough lift? to be close to 5"?

Why a Dana 30? They have a reputation for being less than reliable off road. I think you'd stand a better chance with the stock D35 TTB.

I suppose it would work okay if you didn't go too big on the tires and don't plan on anything hard core like rock crawling or lockers.

I dunno man. I'm not big on 3rd gens, but I really your truck as it is.

So uh, what gears you got in that front end?

I like 1st gens over them all, but Those are rare around here. :(
The closest desert to me is over 100 miles away so its is pointless to have a "Pre-runner" around here, So many rock crawling trails here thats why I want to swap and just switch over.
3.73 :icon_rofl:

Well, I'd still stick with the D-35 for rock crawling. But I do need those gears....

Because I want to swap to 3.73s in my Ranger and I'm too lazy to go pull a center chunk at the junk yard myself.

Oh well, I might not being sasing the front very soon... but when I do and if you still need to parts ill gladly sell you them super cheap...

Does anyone know the answer to this? vvv

Why would you get rid of glass flares just because you aren't jumping it? From what I saw, that truck isn't even a pre-runner... It's more or less a lifted 4x4 with some fancy bodywork?

d30 will hold up just fine if you know the rigs limits. i've seen locked d30's on 37's on the rocks under a tj w/ coilovers and all. he's a great driver, he runs all the trails at superlift, most at smorr, most at hpo. its all about how you drive it...well to a certain degree. lol.

d30's have TONS of aftermarket support. weakpoint we usually see is the u-joints in the axles or unitbearings. being part of MidSouth Jeeps, i see lots of d30's get wheeled (mud and rocks).

lets not turn this into a debate on d30 vs d35 tho... there are already enough of those on here; about which is stronger and all that....

my question is why do you need a solid axle over a ttb? i started to do the d30 sas on my b2 w/ custom long arms. if you sas, go ahead and do the long arms now.. work it once and be done.

Run D60's and be done with it.
