My New Website Anti Speed Humps/ Speed Tables

I know you can claim damage for a pothole. What about speedbumps?

am i the only one that speeds up to hit these things?

Nope. I used to do it in my Omega. That's a unibody car at that. Never damaged the suspension though.

So what?
They effect property value.. the same reason I can't work on my project in my own drive way with out getting ticketed.. there's lady down the street in a wheel chair has to go the long way around the block to visit people on the other end of her block when it used to be a roll down the street..
Like I've said in other sights I have a investment in a local tire company and the front end damage has increased allot, good for business but still not right to punish people/communities rather than the particular offenders.. people need to be held accountable for their actions.. as you read for some they are launch pads

The effect on Emergency vehicles and those in side.. like Fire truck tankers and EMS... 500 gallons of water going over a speed hump is not fun at any speed but there are a few streets in my town with 8 in a row... I'm sorry but those guys have enough obstacles as it is.

and The profile of these things are not the same since they are laid by hand...some are smooth and some will knock your teeth out....
So why spend money installing a technologically poor device that presents an additional obstruction and danger to the community?

Oh well... I'm a Leader in Cub Scouts and I have nothing but respect for people protecting children... but this just isn't the answer or the lesson to teach our children..
We need to be responsible for our actions, and hold others responsible for theirs.

Here, Bro. Look at this photo I took by my property just before Christmas. The speed limit is 30 mph...and this ahole was doing 90+ in a dually 3500 Chevy truck. 20 year old kid driving like a bat out of hell, and he killed a 19 year old girl. It is a small two lane road, very curvy and it is tree lined. The punk lost control on a corner and spun it around and slammed into a tree. See the damage? The tree is an oak tree and it is still there and living. The girl is not. We knew her and her family. The punk lived and is now charged in her death.
This is the issue I am bringing up...do you honestly want this fast driving in your neighborhood? Be honest with me?? I will never forget that night...because I was there and saw what happened.

And you think that a speedbump would of stopped him..how? Obviously if he was going that fast in the first place, he wouldn't care about a bump.

Cat - I remembered when you originally posted that. I lived on a street with 4 road humps that they put in (along with 2 stop signs) for exactly preventing crap like that. In my opinion, if you're in that big a hurry, leave sooner and drive safe. What a retard - too bad it wasn't him clearing out the gene pool.

I am sure the first speed bump he would have hit would have put him out of commission at that outrageous speed!! There are speed bumps in another area and witnesses who saw him just before the accident say he was going over them slowly so when he got to the area without the speed bumps he took off like a rocket. And why did he do this? Maybe he thinks he is immortal??

You are as usual right on this, Robert. We need more people in our world who think like you do!!!

I am just saying, if he was reckless enough to be driving like that in the first place, then i doubt he would of cared about a speed bump or two. And who is to say that if he did hit that speed bump, then he wouldn't of lost control and did way more damage to people/material things?

how so? loss of control and hitting something else and killing his passenger anyways?

so basically, if we put a speed bump every 1/8th of a mile EVERYWHERE, sh!t even put them on the highways, we will have no more issues with reckless driving. problem solved, no one dies, happy time right?

when i was like 12 i hit a speed bump on my bike and tore all the skin off my elbow, still have the scar.

I busted out one of my teeth on one while out trick-or-treating when I was 7.

I had one of those, sort of still do. It's tucked away right now waiting for me to put on the new carb & ignition system. Just got all the bodywork done to it and the front clip repainted. Sure the car isn't worth it but it was my first car with sentimental value.

By and large the speedbumps in the highschool parking lot worked, most people slowed down for them. There were idiots that sped up and hammered their suspension but they were the minority, and during the rush to get there and leave you didn't have a choice because everybody was slowly crossing them.

They are the only two in town, so that is all I have to go on. :D

You both are oblivious to what I was saying...speed bumps should be used in neighborhoods and I firmly believe in school zones as well to slow idiots down. I am for speed bumps for the simple reason that it slows down traffic. For this reason alone millions of Americans voted for them in their neighborhoods. You can't stop them from coming in to your area if enough people vote to put them in place!! If they vote against it then that is their decision!!!
