Just picked up this bad boy, 97 ranger has 4.0 with 75 on the motor, 5 speed tranny, had some brand new 31s on there, really nice truck in excellent condition, got it for $2500 which seemed fair to me, just hooked up my cb using a mag mount antenna on the roof for now till i get a tool box to mount my 102" whip on, soon ill be doing exhaust on it, ust unbolt stock catback and ill run some pipe then do a flowmaster knock off si/do single chamber muffler with duals out the back i think itll sound pretty goood, also plan on doing a 3" body lift and will probably upgrade to grade 8 bolt for the hardware, then will level out the front with some washers and runs some 33s, anyways heres the pics

that is one hell of a clean truck

man thats clean. good find.

thanks guys, yeah i was really surprised how clean the truck was, theres a dent in the driver door but itll be easy to get out and a few small ones on the hood but those dont really bother me much overall the trucks just in excellent i knew i had to have it haha, i think once i level it and doing the body lift and throw some 33s on there itll really look good

if it was me , i wouldnt mess with a truck that clean , but i shouldn't talk , i bout a near perfect 2 owner 97 and immediatley started modding it , i regret starting , but at the same time i love it , and the truck keeps getting better and better

Im going to keep it clean I wont be cutting up the body or anything, just going to do some exhaust work, give it a little lift and put it on 33s

forgot to mention is has manual lockin hubs up front too! definatly a plus in my book, cant tell what brand they are will probably swap them out for some warns or something but in my eyes definatly better than auto hubs

thats how my STX looked when i first got it all sexy and clean, then parking it at school people keying the poor thing and such, good luck with keeping it clean!

I catch someone keying my truck ill cut their hand off, simple as that lol no i know that chits gunna happen but im pretty good about keeping my vehicles clean and gettin out scratched/dents and stuff so im pretty confident i can keep it lookin good, on a side note anyone know the size exhaust piping the 97 4.0 had through the cats and up to the flange after the second cat? i know in another thread i saw the explores had 2.5" pipe through the cats so im thinkin it would be the same, im thinkin if thats he case ill ust run 2.5" pipe after the 2nd cat into a muffler with dual 2.25" outlets

are you saying knock out the honeycomb in the cat and straight pipe it, if so, i like your style. haha
if not i think most people run 2.5 to 2.25 after the muff, 2.5 inch pipe is too big after the muff. in my opinion, but everyone does this crap differently.

i run 2.5 to 2.25 setup and its fine.

the factory pipe into the muffler after the car is 2" , i know because i have a new front pipe laying in the backseat of my truck , and i just bought all the stuff for my side dump

was thinkin about takin cats off but i think ive decided for exhaust that after the cats just run a 2.5" pipe into a flowmaster single chamber with dual 2.25" outlets out the back with 3 or 3.5" tips, should sound pretty good i think, if i dont like it i an always experiment with just doing duals without the muffler, removing rear cat or both cat etc, ill just play with it and see what i like best, i know with mustangs they have diagrams you can wire ur a homemade mil eliminator to plug into the o2 sensor to dummy the system into thinkin all is ok, anyone know if those willl work for the ranger? i made some and worked great for my stang, i would love to remove atleast the rear cat but dont want to deal with a cel

Great find, incredible price. Makes me sad, because I picked up a 94 with 185k on the odometer and a little rust for only $1000. That was 2 months ago, and now I've got an additional $3000 into it to fix all the shit that has gone bad or was bad...... and the cab still smells like armpits..... i'm very jealous :o
