My motor swap

I'll be home tomorrow and I'll check for the stuff you pm'ed. I know I have most of it.

ok cool cool. well i bought an oil pan, dipsyick, oil pickup and a 16" electric fan. so i need a pulley, or if i chose not to run ps right now mine will would work. but idk if you have one, i may have to pick it up from ya!

ok now how are ya'll doing the transmission cooling lines? using the stock ones off your ranger? the thing that was in front of my radiator
302040.jpg

this was for the ac right? i know they say run your tranny cooling lines to your radiator, and my 4.0 radiator come with places for them and some fittings. so can i just buy stock ranger lines for it? or do i even need to worry about these???

Yes that cooler is for your A\C.

What i did for my tranny lines was bent up my own. You can buy the lines and bend them up yourself. Make sure you use a bender so it wont kink on you.

You can use the radiator or get a separate tranny cooler witchever works best for you.

ok sweet man! well ill just go and pick up some hard lines and a small bender from advance when its that time. and ill just use the ones on the radiator...

and i need to figure out all of my vaccum lines to :(

It'll be easier when the engine is in place to figure out where all that will go.

Why not run a Holley 300 carb?? Looks like your makin' progress tho!

I've Never seen a Holley 300. Disconnect the secondaries on a Holley 600 and you'll have something like a 350-400 cfm carb.

how and where do i plug the electric choke into? it should be coming together this coming weekend. im hoping to get a good bit done

Best thing to do with the choke is remove it altogether. That's what I do with all my Holleys. Every single piece of the choke assembly is removed first thing. Get in her 1st thing in the morning, pump the gas pedal once, fire it off. At best, all you'll need do to get it to idle on it's own when the weather's cold is baby the pedal a few minutes. If it's in tune (ignition) it needs no choke down here. Mine starts at 25*F and idles on it's own right off. Holley 570 , no choke, Crane XR-1 ignition, Mallory Promaster coil. The Ford F4TE roller cam helps too. (Explorer/Mountaineer--94-97 E & F150 5.0 cam)

hmmm. i didnt know that. ight then

well i just picked up my mounts...

87 vert mounts

looks like the one.
call and make sure the hub that screws on the block has the outlet and inlet holes like the one in the pic.they have to 90 out.if they point straight out...........wont work.
its been a while since i bought mine.

If I were you I would have some good hoses made up. I would'nt use the hose barbs with the clamps. After a while they'll leak. While you are doing it might as well do it right. just my .02 though

true. ill go ahead and do that.

well are the threads right?

Your tranny lines don't need to be done on a bender. If your on a budget just bending over you legs works just fine.

As for the oil relocator. I've used the stock hoses that came with the kit for about 5 years now with no problems.

I'll look this weekend for the water pump pulley. I know I have one (somewhere).

For my air filter. I used the one off my 2.8L. I took off the horn, pointed the hole towards the back and haven't had a problem...yet.

For the electric choke. Just find any hot lead and attach it to the choke. It's that easy.
