My motor swap

If you are running alt, fan (water pump), p.s you should be good with one belt.

You do not need a separate belt for each accessory

I think you are forgetting the crank pulley. Normally isn'tit crank to water pump to alt and for the other belt, crank to water pump to AC/PS? Thought it was normally three pulleys per belt.
Dave - probably having my normal brain cramp.

i was off work today, so i got my dad to help me some, yes hes the bald one lol! and i need a friggin hair cut, but o well...

well its that time.

You should really cherish the fact you get to do this project with your dad.
Not to sound sappy.
My dad and I never got to do anything like this before he passed. I always try to get my son out in the garage with as much as i can.

Your right i misunderstood his post. I thought he wanted to run 3 different belts.

I hear you about having a dad willing and but maybe not always happy to help you. My Dad passed last year and he was into sports not cars but he put up with me. Glad to see you and your son spending time together.

well id like to only run 2. but my crank pulley is a 2 groove. ps pump would be 1 groove. my alt is one groove. and my water pump is one groove.... so i guess i need a deeper 2 groove water pump pulley then?

oh and i am glad that my dad helps me some. its just that neither him nor me know CRAP about motors lol

I used the same setup from an 88 Vic. Only thing that's needed to make it all work is lengthening the alternator wirng.

Why not run a Holley 300 carb?? Looks like your makin' progress tho!

well i already have the v-belt pulleys. but how could i tighten the belt from the ps pump to the crank? the one for the alt, crank, and waterpump it will have a tension thing on my alt bracket...

oh, and y i didnt run a 300? idk... everyone else was running 600's lol. this is all new to me man.

i guess ill go and get some 87 stang vert mounts tomorrow

I'll be home tomorrow and I'll check for the stuff you pm'ed. I know I have most of it.
