My motor swap


I think the trans you have is the C-4. It should have 11 bolts on the trans pan, the C3 has 13. The C-5 didn't come out until '82'. As far as adding PS later, plan now, probably going to change a few pulleys. I'll dig up some old pulley arrangements and show all the different options, might end up with a three groove crank pulley depending on what all you want to run.

hmmm well i know in the tech section here or on rps it said that the c5 was only offerend in a ranger in 83 or something. idk here i got a BIG update

oh and i just want crank, water pump, PS, and alt... could i run crank, WP, and one or the other on one belt?

from one mess to another! o well, all i have to do is rip out the blower box, shave it, install my new mounts and tranny member and hopefully getting this 302 in and runnin wont be too bad.

I was not really paying attention to the pictures you showed. I thought that was the other trans you were talking about, not the one you pulled. Been into the suds too much today!

ohh you were talking about the one that under my carport, that i took pics of the driveshaft with.

well on the c4. do i need a neutral saftey switch and all that jazz? no biggie i guess, but idk anything about a tranny. i know a "LITTLE" about motors now, i know i can get the motor in and runnin soon. but the tranny... idk

HAHAH murder lol, i didnt drain the tranny, but i got it all cleaned up today.

AND YES YOU DID SEE TWO! yots. my 91 4x4 and my BRAND NEW 09 4x4... why? hehe
 
murder is whats going to happen to your underwear when you get it out on the road with the 302.......
when i first cranked mine up you couldn't have wiped the smile off my face with a boat paddle.i wish i could have driven mine more with the tunnel ram setup,ran it around the pasture for about an hour to break in the cam and set the rings.went thru about 6 gallons of high test.did 2 drop the hammer at 20 mph in high 4x4 and almost s@#t myself.i still think my hand prints are on the steering wheel.

can i run 3 pulleys on a v-belt?
 
If you are running alt, fan (water pump), you should be good with one belt.
If you are going to run ps you should run a second belt.

You do not need a separate belt for each accessory

yea i know.

but one belt for alt, WP, crank. and then one for PS and crank? would this work?

and will 87 stang vert mounts do fine?
