If you missed the story I posted a few months ago, I'll tell it again.

2 years ago my grandfather died, and one of the vehicles he owned was a 1992 Ford Ranger Super Cab 2wd. I came forward and offered to buy it and the family accepted.

After I bought it, I saw some rust forming over the wheel wells(typical) and I wanted to restore it. My brother knew a guy who owned an auto body shop and gave me a very good deal.

So..... here are just some of the body rust repair and sanding pics.

Talk about "junk in the trunk"

When the stupid snow melts up here(I keep the truck in storage) I'll take pics of what she lookes like now. Trust me, she's pretty.
The paint thats on it now is off the Mazda RX8(Red)
The rims were glass beaded and repainted
Shaved bumper
And enough pearl in the paint and wheels to make the "save the whale" folk cry

oh nice I can't wait to see the new pics.

It seems to be a little longer, we got hit with yet another snowstorm. Absolutly stupid. But not to disappoint, some of you have been helping me with my 302 Q's and I would like to show you what I have so far.........

So far, this 302 has:
Edelbrock aluminum heads
KB Pistons +.040 Bore
New oil pan(from a Ranger conversion kit)
Roller rocker arms

Much more is in the plans, only $$$$$$ is slowing down the build, but it will get done.

Whereabouts on "the range" are you? My parents are from Hoyt Lakes.

The Eveleth-Midway area

OK. The snow has finally melted and the skies are clear enough for me to take the truck out of storage.

Here is how she looks like now:

Now, this truck is not even close to being done. I still have to box the frame for the 302, put in the 302, and build a hitch receiver because I refuse to buy these poorly welded pieces of junk receivers for $150. Nope, I'll weld up my own.

wowzers! looks great! paint is awesome..

rims look nice, did you re-clear coat them after cleaning them up? i would recommend it if not!

Yes, the rims are re-cleared. The old clear was flaking badly, thus trapping dirt in the fine grooves in the rim. I glass-beaded the rims and my autobody guy re-cleared them with some extra gold and silver pearl.

This truck is very dusty from storage for 7 months, but when I wax the truck, boy does she ever shine. I couldn't even stare at it too long after she got out of the shop.

This also reminds me, you can do anything, fix anything, build anything, paint anything you want, it just takes time, money, and the knowing the right people. Without me knowing this autobody guy personally, I could have never started this project.

kinda wish there was a place that sells the GT side skirts................

Do you plan on it being a sleeper sort of? What are your plans for use... (excuse me if you already said it) lol

Well, first I'll obey ALL speed limits:icon_rofl:, then I'll just baby the snot out of the truck:icon_rofl:, and finally I'll make a million dollars and have a Mountain Dew fountain in the living room:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

But, seriously, yes it will be a sleeper of sorts. I hate the "slammed" look of a lowered truck. Can't haul much in a truck thats scrapes the ground. And since its a 2wd, a lift kit would be pointless, so a 2 or 3'' body lift will be done to clear a few parts under the hood. Other than that, yup, a sound sleeper

Well, the 302 is almost done. The new valve covers and intake from a mustang arrived. Here is how she is lookin'

This summer, I'll be getting the T-5 rebuilt and possibly an 8.8 rear end installed.
