My Bronco 2

Updated valve body cleaned out, checked out, and installed today.

also doing valve cover gaskets now. Permadry's of course. would be done by now but decided the valve covers needed a coat of paint so, I sprayed them and waiting till morning to install them.

after that, is a test drive... if all is good, the d28 gets ripped out!

rub spot, will be addressed with the JKS quick disco's making the sway bar mount back in the stock location

full droop with everything still connected, from middle of hub to bottom of fender is 26" which is only about 4" from ride height. sway bar is limiting it I'm sure.

well the d28 is OUT. only took an hour to drop it. tomorrow, or later today I'll be getting the rest of the drop brackets off the frame and do some more pressure washing

all the useless drop bracket off... 2 bottles of Awesome (really strong, cheap soap) sprayed on the oil leak mess then pressure washed off.. cleaned up decently, probably do it again before the axle goes back in.

Did some more bracket removing (old transmission crossmember brackets, stupid rivets) tonight and started laying out the new crossmember that'll be the radius arm mounts also.
plan is to model after 88_Eddie's. I feel that it's properly designed, not to much... not to little.
for those that don't know, it looks like this:

--Eddie's pic, I do not own... it's all his! lol, don't wanna go get sued!

Sweet. The nicest B2 on TRS is getting nicer!

thanks Shane, don't worry, it's not getting built up to beat on it.. It's still a DD/Mall Crawler.. it'll just be capable of MORE than I'll ever put it through.

are you going to make the trans mount part removable from the rest of it in case you need to drop the trans ???

acutally, yes I am.. the 2x2 piece will have 2 grade 8 bolts in it. take the bolts out, slide the 2x2 backwards and remove it.

I wasn't going to, but then decided a decently easy way to make it easy.. I think.

and yes, grade 8's are overkill for that... but that's what we have at the shop (and they are free for me!) everything under the front will probably be getting grade 8's. lol

I always thought it was best to use grade 8 bolts in everything when it comes to drive trans and suspension parts.

Best, yes..
mild overkill on SOME of the parts, yes.

plus with the amount of bolts that hold these brackets on.. yeah, it's not going anywhere.

HEY! that image is copyrighted!!! lol, j/k.....it's on the interwebz so it's free game

Why clean up the mess?

Oil leak, nature's undercoating.

b/c with the amount of oil that was there... I'm honestly surprised it didn't already engulf in flames.

My dad got bored today at work so...
