My Bronco 2

Yep, Save your money for now, but keep your eyes open for something like a 60, that way in the future when your really ready to cut loose, you will have something that can handle a V8 under the hood.

Because you know really deep down, you want to V8 your BII, you Might not think you do right now, but you really really do, WE all do.

nope, i'm perfectly happy w/ my 4.0

and i'll probably never have a 60 in this b2. maybe find a cheap on for a dedicated trail rig!! and then 60 it!!!!!

I THOUGHT I was happy with my 89 BII as it was from factory, with it's d28 and 2.9, but I just found out that I MIGHT get a 94 Explorer from my Father-in-law, guess what is in my little BII's future if I do get it. :)

I'm never happy with my setups, My little 88 Ranger is sitting in the drive with no engine and a 91 4.0 in the garage needing a gasket kit, and I have changed my mind and trying to find either a odd ball type engine, or a Big block Ford or Dodge engine for it.

But any who, good luck with the swap, it should be pretty straight forward to swap out.

X2. Keep the 4.0 and do go 60 on a DD.

I'd definetly go to the 35 ttb it's already designed to drop into your truck and is stronger anyways. Plus for what you want out of it you'll never break It, save your $ and when you get into wheeling more and need a solid axle go to a Dana 44/60 etc not a 30

Dibs on the d30 axles!!!!

Btw will tj axles fit in an xj axle? I have 27 spline. I need to find out but if somebody can chime in that would be great.

I agree a SAS isn't an easy or cheap thing to do, a ttb d35 may be better suited if your on a budget.

Btw you need to change your motto above your picture.

I will.. And you got dibs on the shafts. You spoke up on FB to right? Lol. You must really want them.. $25 plus shipping.

They do need ujoints. One has already been removed.

Looked it up and the shafts are the same!!!! Told the YJ have smaller u-joints but from the pics and what you say, they are the bigger ones.

Like I said on FB, dont get paid till Friday. I want the u-joint ones, cv shafts are working fine but the grease wants to leak from around the boots, it kinda stopped but dont want it to get into my brakes. Plus I have to put new shaft seals in it anyways since my driverside one is starting to leak on me, good thing for a clear diff. cover, i keep my eye on the level. Basiclly my front axle will be getting a complete re-doing, one thing at a time.

And ya I planned on putting new u-joints on the shafts anyways, need to look up which are the strongest ones but would like to have greaseable ones, saw a guy on here that had a set. Told they are weaker u-joints due to being greaseable but would rather have a u-joint snap then a shaft.

As long as they are 27 spline ones, I am good.

Yeah I sure am glad my truck isnt my DD. oh wait if this new job works out its gonna be :icon_confused:

What about the lift laws and tires sticking out thing up where you are at?

ive ran both greasable and non-greasable. the mud around here is typically pretty forgiving as far as strength goes but it is very hard on parts if the mud works its way into those part's so I perfer greasable. ive heard the same thing. ive also had my go around with the spicer joints. the only time Ive broken joints or shafts is roddin on it while crankin the wheel. ive never broke a joint and had the shaft stay intact either when the joint break's at high R's it's just a bad deal.

I have somwhat changed my driving style this summer and i like being able to make it thru stuff turning as low as rpm's as possiable. kinda funny puttin thru a nasty hole while everyone else goes thru the same and they are just roddin the piss outta em.

hahaha fackem. it will be a swing shift job so i wont be on the road much durning the daytime.

The greaseable sound like they would be good to push out crap that may have or is trying to get inside of the u-joints. But being a DD right now and having to travel to go have fun, they sound like the best option to go with.

Sorry to thread jack, back to where you were here :D
